I have done a lot of research, with books, by internet, asking questions, and spending way too much time comparison shopping at Petco! However, that does not make me a vet, and I think it is a given that when any of us gives medical advice that it should be run by a vet first. We don't always say that, I guess, I know I didn't, but I corrected it, and it is a very good point for you to make and everyone should take note when giving medical advice. (But the doggie aspirin really does work, lol.)

You need a "personal disclaimer"(was supposed to be smiley face here?) I don't want anyone tracking me down saying "hey, you said on that Corgi site that I could do this" I never assume that everyone out there has the sense to ask their vet no offense to you personally(I am not talking about you)

I just wished that talking to my vets(I have one here and one in Las Vegas) wasn't like pulling teeth. I also wish that I had one whom I did not have to explain Corgi things too, like, "Yes, she's a purebreed, she's supposed to be that long, that's the way they come." I hear myself making make that comment every vet visit!

I love when the technician tells others "yes, they are always born without the tail"

I didn't think you came across that way at all. Yes, I would definitely ask my vet before I did anything. My mother-in-law has a list of what things you can give dogs/cats for various ailments. I think I'll print that off and take it to my vet and see what he says. Again, thanks for the advice. You have been wonderful! I envy you getting to go to Vegas a lot. I went for the first time this past summer. We had such a wonderful time there!

I am glad that Egan is feeling better, wow those fire ants are scarey. I was visiting in FL two years ago and found one, they HURT! poor baby...Kisses to him.

On an important note Tylenol IS toxic to CATS it causes severe damage to the kidneys. Please never give tylenol to a cat. My vet did tell me i could give my cat who was suffering from some arthritis a half of a baby aspirin every day IF she was showing signs of pain...HOWEVER- i never did give her any, opting instead for glucosamine chondroitin suppliment which has eliviated much of her limping and pain...so I am a firm believer in that instead. Before anyone gives any medications made for humans to a pet, they should check with a vet that they trust. I have styptic powder in my home emergency kit for just such a toenail emergency, however ,knock wood, i have never needed it.
