Tooth brushing tips...

Any ideas how to make brushing a Corgi's teeth easier? Trying to brush Ein's teeth is like trying to hold onto a greased pig with one hand and trying not to poke him in the eye with the tooth brush.

Eins squirms and licks repeatedly at the toothbrush while I'm trying to brush his teeth. So only his front teeth and front sides have been brushed and the back is almost impossible to get done. Not to mention I have to keep re loading the toothbrush and it's all getting eaten instead of cleaning his teeth.

Not that Ein cares mind you. He loooves eating that tooth paste. It's chicken flavor! LOL! ;>

Thank you!

Jackie does a lot of licking during her tooth brushings also - she loves toothpaste! Do you have a regular toothbrush or one of those that goes on your finger? I use the finger ones, I find they give me better control and I am less likely to poke out any eyes (mine included!).

Also, it's easier to get those back teeth if you LIFT the lips out of the way (instead of just trying to poke the brush back there). You might already be doing that - if so I apologize.

My husband also uses the finger-tip kind. Mazie does lick off the toothpaste, but at least he is getting some in there... ...

Fluffypants and Iricch565,

Thank you for your replies! :>

Fluffy- I have a very long toothbrush and one of the finger cap kind that came with the doggie toothpaste. I'll have to try the finger cap one, as I'd forgotten about it, again. If that doesn't work then I'll tell my brushing-Ein's-teeth-should-be-easy husband to do it. ;>

Iricch- Will try the finger tip one again. Thanks!
