I am so glad that Sooty seems to be feeling better... glad the antibiotic and lots of hugs and corgi kisses seemed to have done the trick!

Glad Sooty is better!

When Emma was ill and had to take low dose aspirin every day I put the pill in a little peanut butter and put it on the roof of her mouth. By the time the peanut butter was gone the pill was swallowed.

We had a visit from my brother with Libby the labrador so Sooty was a very happy bunny as he loves Libby. And then Sooty ate a little more chicken and is now snoring away in the corner. Cindy is also snoring away but that is normal for her to have a mid-afternoon snooze.

Gosh no- it's a beautiful day 10C and sunny not a cloud in the sky. We've had a very mild Winter so far- daffodils are flowering already. They usually don't flower until early March.

It would have been an ideal day for a walk on the beach with the dogs but the vet said not go too far this weekend.

Laura,

Whewwww!!! Glad to hear Sooty is mending. Those high temperatures sure can cause a fright and when one is "off" - yikes. Really relieved he is coming around.

Update

Improving all the time- still not eating much but has eaten about half as normal this morning and has been barking at the neighbourhood cats who were wandering around when he was sitting outside.

Another three days of antibiotics. As I am going away to Spain next Saturday for a week and they are both going into kennels, if he is not eating well by Tuesday, I'll go back for a check-up.
He has never been a clingy dog and is very independent, not much into hugs, but I've noticed he has sat or lain close to me all the time during the day.

Poor Sooty - glad he is feeling better. They are like children get really sick fast and start showing improvement with the antibiotics and it takes us parents weeks to recuperate from the worry. Yup - good ole peanut butter is the way to go with meds. I have had the most successes with it. Peanut butter sticks like glue to the pill and they swallow it pill and all.

Keep us posted on little Sooty. And that is good that you will take him back on Tuesday if he is still not eating well. Often bloodwork can tell so much in regards to how their kidneys, liver, pancreas and other things are functioning. With him being a senior dog, it may be a good idea if his appetite is not better by Tuesday, and would probably give you some reassurance before you leave for vacation on Saturday that his blood work was normal.

Sending hugs to him so he feels 100% better soon.

Peanut butter now bought- thank goodness the local little store is open on Sunday. We have all been having tiny licks to make sure we know it not yucky ready for tablets tomorrow- just checked and there are 6 tablets left so that's 4 more days!!

Are you all ready for the Super Bowl- they even show it live here now but it's too late for me.
We have a big international rugby match in 30 minutes on tv between Wales and Ireland.
