Sooty has infection and high temperature
Came home from work today to a very lethargic Sooty- he was walking like an old man and was like a wet rag.Very sorry for himself.
He wouldn't look at food and was very slow and reluctant to go for a walk. So rushed down to the vet at 6. She said he had swollen lymph glands, a painful stomach and kidneys, and a temp of 104. So immediate antibiotics and pain killers, no food tonight and to try him with some plain chicken tomorrow and to call her if he still won't eat.I chose that vet as they live on the premises and so are available 24/7. More antibiotics to take over the weekend. Cindy was so sweet- she kept looking at him and sniffing him when we were walking as if to say' you're not your usual bouncy self , are you?'

Poor Sooty! Do they have any idea what caused the infection? I hope he feel better soon - Jackie sends corgi kisses.

I did ask and the vet said she couldn't really say. I think she hopes he responds this weekend and if not then further investigation will be needed. He's sitting on the sofa next to me now, all cwched up. He wasn't actually crying before I took him to the vet but was almost. He was making an almost moaning sound.
Apart from his eye problems a few years ago and he wasn't ill in himself then, he has never been ill like this. Like you'd know with human babies, I knew straight away something was up with him. Thanks for all the hugs.

Hi Laura,
I hope Sooty is feeling better by morning. Poor guy, must be feeling really lousy to show it. Let's hope the anitbiotics were the right ones and start him on the road to recovery!

All the corgis kisses must have worked ( or the anti-biotics did too! LOL) He is much brighter this morning, ate a very small amount of chicken, spat out his tablets as usual but out of one and a half he had one and a quarter and I've mushed the final quarter up in his bowl for later. He can sniff a tablet from 10 foot away , he spat out the chicken it was hidden in but carried on chewing the tablets!!
Went on a little walk- even ran a little too. Head is up now much more than yesterday and looks interested in things. Cindy, on the other hand is annoyed he is having chicken so she had to have some too. Thanks again for your kisses and thoughts all across the ocean!!
