Great news about sassy! It is amazing to know how many corgis get similar situation like limping.Mine did too in sep 2006,and for her, the vet said cannot find anything wrong and,if she still keep limping, bring her back was answer and then, since it did not get better, brought her back and vet did x-ray and we went to ortho vet that thought she had ligament tore.Afterall, she went to surgery procesure but ligament was not tore!! just opened leg and stich up costed us about 1000 dollars!! After that, she kept limping although we were strictly restricted her activity with leash and no walk for a month and half I think.Up to today,no one knows what was bad about her leg.
Gradually, limping has gone and just a month or two ago, very vert slight limp came back and I decided to give her glucosamin products and now all limp is gone. Now I am thinking it was pulled mustle thing like yours.. or simple growing pain because she was about 1 year to be.
