Arrow Corgi Chart - 04-15-2006, 04:08 PM

Is there a "growth" chart on Corgi's available on the internet? I would be interested in reading about how much their weight/size should be at a certain age.... if you can please post a link… thanks in advance.

I have looked but I haven't been able to locate one. I am curious too. Chip was 3 months old on the 11th and weighed 11 lbs. when he went to the Vet on Thursday. How much does your pup weigh. Chip is a pem.

The general rule of thumb I was taught is - a pound per each week old. So Chip weighing 11 pounds at 12 weeks (3 months) is right on target. Around six months though, the rate changes a little bit. Of course overall size and proportion factor into the equation as well. An undersized puppy with finer bone may be a couple pounds shy of the average, while an a larger bigger boned puppy might weigh more. The above rule of thumb works for both Pembrokes & Cardigans.

Thanks Debbie for the info. You might want to know that I switched his puppy food from Science Diet to Purina Pro Plan Selects and he likes it fine. I didn't like the way the ingredients were listed in the Science Diet.

One of the pet supply places I frequent just started carrying Purina Pro Plan Selects. As is my usual custom when I see a new food, I checked out the label. I was impressed - looks like a very good food.

Chips mom,

My Corgi at 11 weeks weighed 11 lbs. 3 ounces. - at 20 weeks he weighed in
at 19 pounds. He is slowing down now, but is healthy and not too heavy.
He is a Pem.

Chop's Mom and Linda are model Corgi owners as far as the weight of their Corgis is concerned. Good models for others to copy.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am trying to do everything right with Chip. I want him to remain healthy and we love him so much. He is a blessing from God after I just lost my corgi mix from Cancer. I do tend to be a little eccentric with him so please forgive me if I am overprotective. This site has helped me so much and I thank you all.
