Head shake -

Took Taylor to the vet for his annual innoculation and check-up. He was last at the vet's 14 months ago. The only innoculation he needed was for preventing Kennel Cough. His gums are perfect and the almost weekly raw canon beef bone he gets are also having a positive benefit on his teeth. He objected vigorously to having the inside of his ears searched with an instrument but they were free of any wax etc. The vet ( the ususal clinic but not the usual vet we visit) was very pleased with his weight at 12.4kg (27 pounds) and muscle density, bone structure and density and heart rate, and remarked how many Corgis she has dealt with and seen are overweight which is particularly not good for a long-backed and little-legged Corgi.
I discussed feeding dogs with her in respect to some of the members on Go Corgi, and while not going into details here, suffice to say that she was very adamant that puppies should be given a careful food programme pertaining to puppies with premium food provided for density of bone and for correct measures of calcuim which are extremely important for their wellbeing as adults and as seniors, according to her.
I asked her why does Taylor almost always shake his head with great gusto in the early hours of the morning when shifting sleeping spots in my bedroom and usually waking up both me and my wife. Is it dust mites? Is it something in his ears? She said the shaking was the same as a stretch and there is nothing we can do about it (short of dispatching his usual sleeping quarters elsewhere).
