Taffy gets spayed tomorrow - 03-19-2008, 04:42 PM

I thought I would let everyone know that Taffy Too Little is getting spayed tomorrow. She is one week shy of being 6 months old. She also has one baby canine that I am going to have pulled because she also has her adult canine. She will stay overnight and I pick her up about 9 am on Friday. I have that day off so I will be home with her for three days. I have an xpen for her and hopefully will be able to keep her quiet for a few days. Wish us luck.

Good luck to Miss Taffy. I hope everything goes smoothly and she has a quick recovery. Keeping a Corgi puppy quiet for a few days sounds like the big challenge!

Especially when she has two brothers that like to romp and play chase. It will be a challenge that is for sure. The vet said her incision will only be about an inch long and they won't have to shave her pantaloons which is good.

Westin is getting neutered as I type.... (dropped him off this morning)
I'm one nervous mommy...
but he gets to come home tonight since I got him in so early in the day...
so at least I get to see him when I get home from work!
Thoughts are with you!
(I think the biggest challenge will be getting them to stay calm for a few days!!!!!)

I have gotten really good with this spay neuter. I have managed to acquire a corgi pup three times in the past two years so I have gone through it. I am worried about Taffy because she is only 15 lbs and is a little bitty girl.

We'll be thinking of you and Taffy Bonnie. I'm sure her little self will do just fine.

I always worry about surgery, too. I think it's harder on me, than the dog, who is actually loosing the body parts! It's such a huge relief to me when it's over and my puppy dog is back home. Good thoughts for both you and Taffy Too Little. I think she'll be fine and back to herself in no time!

I dropped Taffy off this morning and she weighs 16 lbs. She sure doesn't look it but she is long and lean and about 2 - 3 inches shorter then the boys. I can call between 2 - 3 this afternoon and see how she is doing. I am hoping the vet calls me first as she sometimes does. She can come home tomorrow at 9 am. I will let you all know how she is doing.

Sending good thoughts, I'm sure she'll be ok. My Solo was only 18 lbs at maturity and she did fine.

I have called the vet's office a couple times today and she is doing fine. Last report is that she is snoozing away and doing well. I am glad that part is over with. She didn't even have an upset tummy so far. I hope she eats tonight.

That's good news Bonnie! I bet you can't wait to get her back home now. Glad to hear she did well.

It is really quiet here at the house and the boys are moping around. I guess they miss their sister not being here to bark at them and boss them around. We miss her too. Funny how you can miss one little dog when you have a houseful. We'll be there at 9 in the morning to pick her up that is for sure. Then she will be spoiled rotten all weekend as if she isn't now.
