Pigmentation in tummy

My 2.5 years old corgi recently has some black pigmentation above his 2 thigh.

Recently, some black pigmentation occur on his tummy, is it normal ? Comes along with age ? or eat wrong food or other reason?

Anyone care to share?

Is it possible to get a picture of the pigmentation?
My Pem Duchess has a callous of some kind on her elbow that is blackish. The vet said it is only a pressure point where she lays against it. It is getting a bit larger, so I will have the vet check it again when we have to go in for Rabies shots. Jane

My nick has spots very similar to what you are describing. He has had them since birth though. To be honest with you I haven't paid much attention to them so I can't tell you if they have gotten darker.

Charlie also has pigmentation like Milo, only larger "splotches" on his belly. He has also had them his whole life too. They did not just appear at an older age, and they don't seem to have changed color. I've always called them "birth marks", though technically that is probably a misnomer.

My wife refers to Nick occasionally as "Mr Speckled Belly"

Spots on the belly of a darker pigmentation are normal. It doesn't come with age and food has nothing to do with it. It's genetic and the way he's made.

Unless the spot is raised (a lump) or changes shape, color or size it's nothing to worry about. And if it's always been there, it's just pigmentation.

Thanks for all the reply.

The pigmentation is flat, just that is light black colour, whole area about 2.5cm x 2.5 cm below his 2 thigh, already there for quite sometimes.

Suddendly recently has few small pigmentation on his tummy area, no pain nor itchy, after seeing you guys reply, i am less worry now.

cheers
