No one is talking permanent for Ein. Even to take her to out to the toilet within a five minute period, an effective, well constructed $75 wheelchair would be a great help to maintain the healing process.

It sounds like you have some first hand experience with these. Can you tell me about ones you have actually seen, or post a link ? Thanks.

Hello everybody!

I just wanted to give a little update on Ein. She is doing much better. She is off the pain medication for almost 2 weeks and she is doing great. In 3 weeks she is having her X-rays. We can not wait for this.
She is already very energetic and we have to put her on a leash when we take her out potty in the back yard. The whole time she was fine without one, but the last days she tried to run around and play with the other dog.
We are hoping everything will be fine in 3 weeks and she can run around and play again.

I am looking forward to a photo or two of Ein racing around for the first time in weeks and weeks.

I know I'm late, but I'm sorry that your Einy-girl got hit by a car! <3 I would be sad if my Ein got hit by a car, it's funny though, she usally stays in the grass when she's outside and off leash [she's trained off leash, and very obedient] I hope she has a speedy, graceful, and full recovery and best of luck! <33

When I first had Duchess I thought I could walk her down the road off leash like the other dogs we had before her. I learned even in the front yard it is not a good idea because she is prone to darting out to the street for any thing that moves. Dogs. cats, squirrels.
Now I keep her on leash except on very quiet early morning potty breaks or down in the woods in the back of the house.
Brianna, you are very lucky to be able to have Ein obey your commands. I will caution you though not to be fooled into depending on her always being obedient. Especially if she is a Pembroke, Cardigans are apt to be a little more subdued.
Just my thoughts, for what its worth. June

Sometimes nothing can prevent a dog becoming a road accident statistic.
Today I hopped over the road to a neighbour for five minutes. A visitor arrived a my home. My son let her in and in the process the door to the conservatory opened (from the draught that was created) and past the conservatory is the laundry and past that is the garage - which was left open. So Taylor took the opportunity to whip through various openings and used his scent abilities to locate me. That meant going across a street and then a busy road with its tight corners. He arrived safely to where i was but it could have been different. Taylor would not have gone anywhere if either me or my wife were at home.
Taylor often goes off leash in 'safe' streets and he follows the amusing practice of coming to a dead halt waiting for my saying GO before crossing streets, driveways etc. Soemtimes he stops up to 100 yards from where we have to cross.

Whew, iisn't that a great relief. Less stress for you and Ein can get back into leading a usual busy and active life - and make up for lost time of course.

What great news! I'm sure Ein and you are quite happy to be able to get back to normal activity. Thanks for the update. I'm so glad he's better.
