Linda - I am quite unconcerned about a Corgi over six months old jumping off beds and doing other such activities that are not the equivallent of jumping six feet. So I wouldn't worry about it at all. In agility, Taylor has jumped off near the very top of the big dogs A-frame onto the ground during competition - so that must be over six feet - and he's fine and dandy from the experience and is happy to do it again and again - but of course it means he misses the contact area near the bottom of the frame and that's not good.

Pleased that Cody is into climbing up and down steps. Corgis are very hardy customers - so just treat him like he is a much bigger dog and you'll feel less worried and more confident about Cody's capabilities.

Congrats about the stairs. Pockets still looks at them and walks away as my one girl goes down! I would rather him stay up here anyway, not so puppy proof down there!

I laughed when I read yours Michael. I love watching agility and love the small fearless ones.

Cindy,

Yes, where is Deb ?- I heard the 6 month age. Cody will be 8 months on July 12th(well, actually before that, if one counts weeks) and not the actual birthdate, so I am assuming he is okay with the stairs and jumping now??

It actually has to do with their backs and their vertebrae not being closed until they reach 6-8 months of age.
Like I said Deb knows more about the specifics than I do.
