Egan's being neutered Tomorrow - 09-25-2006, 07:29 PM

Argh....... I dred it sooo bad......

Egan goes to the vet at 8 am tomorrow to be neutered. They usually keep them over night but they stay in a cage and no one working a night shift so I said no way. I have to sign a waver to pick him up tomorrow afternoon, but I would just feel better if he were at home were I can watch him.

Please keep my sweet fluffer butted boy in your thoughts tomorrow am.

Cindy - Egan will do great! Ace was neutered three weeks ago. We were worried too but everything worked out fine. We'll be thinking about Egan tomorrow morning. Good Luck!!!

Cindy,

I will be thinking of you and Egan. Boy, all these pups growing up lately time is flying by. When Cody had it done, I dropped him off at 7:30 in the morning and was able to pick him up by 4 p.m. that same day. That first evening home was the one and only night that he was restless and did not sleep in his crate. I came and slept in the family room with him, and he was
fine by the next day.

Good luck and let us know how he does.

I will be thinking of you and Egan today. I dropped Chip off at 8:00 am and picked him up at 4:00 also and he did fine. I kept him in his crate overnight. I gave him a pain pill about 9:00 and he slept all night by the next morning he was fine. It is stressful though just thinking about it but it will be ok. Let us know how he is doing.

Hey Cindy, best of luck for Egan. I just had Milo neutered 4 days ago! So, I definitely feel what you're feeling. How old is Egan? Usually for males, it's easier than females. Milo was just an outpatient and done in one day. He didn't have to stay overnight. He was two meds - one antiobiotic and one for pain killing.

Everything will go well for, Egan! Good luck!

Aww Cindy, I know how you feel, I was worried to bits when Dillon was neutered ( he had a more invasive procedure as he had one undescended testicle so he actually had standard neuter plus an abdominal incision too!) He had to stay over night for that...I couldnt sleep all night! He did great.
I am sure Egan will be just fine...i'd say dont worry, but as his mommy, you will, it's just natural to worry! Hugs to you and Egan.

Thanks guys.

He did fine today and is now home and resting in his crate. He ate his supper and went potty but has pretty much been sleeping since we got home.

You can tell he's sore, he's moving slow and his ears are down, Darci has been his little mother hen. LoL

I am sure he will be back to normal in no time.

Cindy:

Glad to hear everything went ok. He should feel alot better today. I think the anesthesia knocks them for a loop along with the surgery. Once, the anesthesia wore off, Chip was fine.

Today he's more himself.
He is swollen and bruised, but is enjoying all the xtra attention.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Glad to hear Egan is doing better. Each day he will be more like himself. It's nice he's getting pampered and that Darci is being a good mother hen! Keep us posted.
