Hello everyone. My name is Eric and my fiance is Helen. We adopted little Joni 2 months ago. She is a sweet little orange and white corgi and we love her.
We say that Joni has turkeylegs when she sticks her back feet out when laying down. We will post a picture of her soon, but everyone should know that she is already an award winner. Our neighborhood had a dog festival over the weekend. Joni won shortest tail outright, and tied for first place for best smile (we think she had the absolute best)! She did come in last in the sitting competition, but we still love her! |

Welcome, Eric! My fiance and I also love our little Milo. Please do post a picture of your Joni! Corgis have absolutely a wonderful smile and disposition. Hands down for the best butts and "tails."
This forum is great and lots of people here and warm and friendly. Do post a picture of your Joni! |

Welcome Eric & Joni!!! Can't wait to see pics of your little girl - how old is she? I am assuming from the shortest tail win that she is a Pem?
I have a fluffy Pem girl named Jackie. She is 15 months old, and a red-headed tricolor.

Hello to a little orange Corgi. Close, but if anyone asks you what the color of Joni is, tell then that she is RED (and white) because that is the closest description a brownish, reddish, orangyish a Corgi comes to be known as.
If you 'adopted' her, I take it she is not a pup and is a kind of rescued Pem. Well done, and isn't it nice to live in a neighborhood where one can gather together with other people with an interest in dogs. |

I forgot to add that she is about 10 months old and has only had 1 pee accident in the house.
She has the smallest little nub of a tail that she sort of twitches. We do want to know if the previous owner/her original breeder had her original tail cut (I had read that some pembrokes have this done). Is there any way to tell? |

Hi Eric, Helen, and Joni:
This is Susan in rural upstate NY with my two hoodlums Tucker (tri Pem) and Lulu (Cardigan). Jonie is adorable. Looking forward to hearing Corgi stories and watching her grow. Susan

So you got her as a rescue?
Not sure if there is any way to tell now. But if they are docked, they usually do that very soon after birth (or so I have been told).

Welcome Eric, Helen and Joni- i love that photo, she is really a cutie!
Most puppies have their tails docked at 3 -4 days old.. also I believe that now, most pems are born with tails- some have short tails some full tails. There are corgis with natural bob tails but they are not as common. I saw one Canadian breeder that is trying to breed the natural bob tails. I bet a lot more breeders will be trying to do this as well in the UK where they are banning cropping ears and docking tails... Emilie |

Hi Eric, Joni is so darn cute. Hope you find what you are looking for here. Everyone is really helpful! My husband and I got our corgi in March, his name is Ponzo. He is red and white and 9 months old with a droopy ear. Good Luck with everything!
