Hello everyone,
I just stumbled across this list today and thought it looked interesting. I have 5 Cardis who live with me, or rather let me live with them. My youngest daughter Kaitlyn was the one who started us on this Cardigan journey. I've had German Shepherds almost 30 years now, but Kaitlyn always had to go see the corgis when we were at the shows. So, five years ago we met Pat Santi who took an interest in Kaitlyn and we have never looked back! We started with a dear little brindle girl who helped Kaitlyn through a very difficult period of her life ( her Dad had just been diagnosed with cancer). This little brindle is Kidwelly's Peppermint Patty. She is a very cherished member of our family, and she immediately became the "M.I.D." ( most important dog) and continues in that position today. Last year, we bred Patty to Ch. Rhydowen Penny Chip and kept two of her kids. Wren (Arcturus' Pennyroyal) our show pick, and Gala ( Arcturus' Pennies Galore) who just earned her CGC and TDI. Gala does animal assisted therapy for "Serve Us Canines". We also have two little red girls, both from Pat. The Corgis are a constant source of amusement and joy, and I can't imagine life without them. We've also met some wonderful people through the corgis. Pat Santi, Jan Siragusa, and Nancy Babyak of course, but so many others. What a nice group of people! Sue Tomlinson |

Hi Sue - there are a couple of regular Go Corgi Cardi members who will be very pleased that you have joined.
I'm in New Zealand and there are two people in particular that I know well who have even larger Cardi numbers than you - one has six and she is a member of my Wellington Welsh Corgi Walking Group and the other is Bridget Smeeton who also owns one or two Pems. Bridget is also a conformation judge and has judged overseas. At the recent NZ national show there were 38 Pems in conformation and only four Cardis which is pretty near the gap that exists between the two breeds here and elsewhere. However in the walking group we now have 26 Corgis and of those, 10 are Cardis. Last edited by Michael Romanos; 10-25-2006 at 09:42 PM. |

Welcome Sue and your 5 cardis! Very cool introduction story! I would love to see photos of your Cardis when you have time to post. I have a 17 month old pembroke who was supposed to be a show dog, but I managed to get him becuase of an undescended testicle... had it come down, who knows, The breeder would have wanted him for show, so i would have had to become a show mommy to keep him ( and I would have for him! He is worth it!) The show life seems pretty hectic- are you showing your dogs currently?
Welcome again.. Emilie |

Hello Sue and welcome to the Board. I am owned by Chip a 9 month old pem who I dearly love. You will find alot of enjoyment from this Board as we all love our corgis. I have 4 dogs so I am wondering how it is with 5? Do they all stay in your home and how do they get along.

Hi Sue:
I am Susan and I live in rural upstate NY with my 1 1/2 year old Pem Tucker (Mr. Center of the Universe) and Lulu my 6 month old Cardigan pup. We are a mixed (Pem + Cardi) family. Welcome and I hope to see pictures of the pack. My two are quite a pair, Frick and Frack. I love going over to Lulu's breeder's house. She has 9 Cardis that are in different stages of competition. They crack me up, 9 of them running for smooches all at once. Welcome and post those pictures soon!

Welcome, Sue! 5 cardigan corgis! Wow, your home must be full of energy day and night. Corgis are wonderful companions and you have 5 times the joy. I'm Mabel from NYC with my first corgi - Milo. He's a whopping 28 lb joy and he's 9 months old.
Do take pictures so we can all see! |
