Hello New in OKC
Hello,
We are new to this site. Princess Nola Grace of Edmond is our red and white Pembroke Welsh Corgi and she just turned 3 last month. We love her dearly. She is something else. Currently, we are looking to further her education. She has completed puppy and advanced training at Petsmart but wants more as she sometimes seems bored. We are also looking at adopting another corgi puppy. We are thinking of a Cardigan but think Nola might get "tail envy"....? We are also concerned Nola would be upset. Although she loves all other dogs. Any breeders in Oklahoma (Pembroke or Cardigan)? We recently got back from a trip to London, England and did not see any corgis. However, the Queen seems to love them dearly. We hoped to get a glance of a corgi at Buckingham Palace or Windsor castle but no such luck!!!! Happy New Year. Nola Grace's parents

Hello, and I love the name Nola
Here are a couple sites that may help you with breeders names in regards to Pems http://www.gaitwaycorgis.com/ (Click on Members /breed) http://www.pwcca.org/memberlist.cfm For Cardigans, here is the official site, but I had a harder time of coming up with breeders near you; someone else on here will probably be able to help you with that. http://www.cardigancorgis.com/ Last edited by corgimom; 01-01-2007 at 03:09 PM. |

Hello to Nola Grace and parents!
I have a mixed Corgi household: Tucker will be 2 in February and he is a Pem and Lulu is an 8 month old Cardi. No tail envy going on here. Tuck just wasn't meant to be an only dog so along came Lulu. Tucker thinks he's the center of the universe so it was important to find a mellow and submissive puppy. Lulu fit the bill. Although the longer they are together they seem to be assimilating both the best and the WORST of each other's personality. Botom line, they get along great. Tuck was 17 months when we got Lulu and very much a puppy. But there clearly was teaching going on (including some of those bad habits!). I would think as long as Nola can handle some puppy exhuberance, she'd be fine w/ another pup given time. She'll probably set limits for a pup. Good luck! Susan

I know you are just joking but Pems don not get envious or upset at dogs with tails even if they are also Corgis, and they dont attack them (the tails) or jam the door on them; it would be most unlikely any member of the public suddenly spying one of the British Queen's five current Corgis. The country with Corgis galore is the USA.
No doubt Nola would be upset at another dog taking up the time you give to Nola. But when things settle down and new routines and relationships established, Nola will survive nicely and probably thrive on the extra companionship of another Corgi. It would be nice if you remember to give both Corgis some space from each other and some time-outs where each one gets to get individual attention including separate walks and outings. Welcome to the site, and Nola is a pretty girl.
![]() If you are looking to do some more training classes with her, maybe try doing a google search for dog training clubs in your area? The AKC website (www.akc.org) also has some info on how to get started in rally, obedience, herding, etc. You might find something useful there.
