Just lost 6 year old Corgi to Lyphoma
Just saw this forum today. On Saturday January 6, 2006 we had to put our 6 Year old male corgi to sleep after a very fast bout with cancer. Showed first real signs of cancer on December 31st. By 1/6 his entire body began to shutdown. The oncologist at Alameda East Hospital in Denver (Emergency Vets) thought chemo might work -- but Charle's body shut down before the treatment could start. Sounds like this type of cancer hits a lot of dogs at age 6. Looking forward to writing more on this forum. Looking for a male, adult rescue corgi in the Colorado area.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my 5 year old to cancer this past summer so I know what you are going through. My heart goes out to you.
Good for you for looking for a rescue. Are you looking for a Cardi or a Pem? Check out: http://www.pembrokecorgirescue.com/ http://www.cardigancorgis.com/ As well petfinder.com has independently rescued dogs that need good homes.

Lost 6 Year old Corgi
Charles, my 6 year old Corgi actually died January 6, 2007 -- not 2006. Thanks for the good words. Looking for a male, adult Pembroke Welsh Corgi. When a dog gets cancer -- it is devasting. Sad thing about cancer is that if you catch it early -- you may get a few months or a year more of love. If you catch it late, it can take them very fast.
Thanks for the wonderful prayers and thoughts C |

I am so sorry for your loss. I also lost a little corgi mix to lymphoma almost a year ago in February so I know the heartache you are going through. He was almost 15 years old and I am so thankful that I had him all of those years. Take care of yourself and Good luck.

I too am so sorry for the loss of your Corgi. It is sad whenever it happens but somehow losing them so young is just plain unfair. But better than them living in pain.
Best wishes, Susan

I'm so sorry for your loss
I lost my two old dogs last year. Ryn on July 19 and Marsh on December 9th just a little past a month ago. They were siblings. I know how you feel.
I am so glad you are getting a rescue corgi. After Ryn went, I pressed my husband to get a young dog and we adopted Liam from the rescue in August. He is wonderful. I adore him. I never thought I would love a dog so much. |

There are different types of cancers and some of them cas be successfully treated if discovered early enough, but it is sad that your Charles had probably the worse kind. Along with all the members of Go Corgi, I hope you find another Charles-like Corgi in the shortest time possible. You are being very staunch as you must still be experiencing the shock of the suddeness of y6ur tragic loss.
