Another Newbie
Howdy-I lucked up on finding this forum as I had been looking for breed specific forums for a while. I guess I finally hit the right link! I lost my little Katie right before Thanksgiving due to a strange accident and she had to be euthanized. I'm still not over that yet buy, at some point wold love to find another similar to her, if that exists. I'm not sure what Katie was but I believe her to be part Cardigan/Pembroke as she has the Face and ears of a Pembroke but the tail and turned out feet of the Cardigan. I'd like to post a picture of two to see what you think.
BTW-thanks for having this forum for all us Corgi lovers!

So sorry about your loss - and well before father time was due to call it seems.
I would say Katie was mainly Corgi - something like 75 percent or perhaps 100 percent. Amazingly, only a couple of days ago in another thread a new member wanted to know what a Cardigan- Pembroke mixed Corgi would look lik And now we may very well have a good example. |

Thanks everyone. corgimom, she was just 2 1/2 years old. She was actually my former wifes dog who got her at six or eight weeks old. We sort of shared Katie and she would bring her down to see me on the weekend and other times I'd go to see her. I feel in love with her from the first time I saw her.Katie was a real sweetheart and had no behavioral problems other than being a bit too energetic! She loved everyone and it didn't matter if you were three or 83-Katie was just affectionate to all. She loved to romp and play and enjoyed hiding behind or under something and then lunge out as you walked by. She was a very happy and loving dog never growling or biting anything or anyone. She never could get her ears to do right, though, and that's what made her Katie. If all dogs were like her, Cesar Millan would have no TV program!
I had no digital camera while Katie was alive but, I did have her on video and that's where those pictures came from. I transfered the video to DVD and had had about 50 various "grabs" put on a CD in .tif and changed that over to .jpg so the pictures could be emailed and posted. Next time, there will be a digital camera in my house! I had a head marker made for her with her name etched deeply into granite at the top and two lines below her name that read, "Our sweet little girl. We love you and miss you". She was buried beside my former wife's house and when I went up there we stood by her burial site and I placed the 15 pound stone at the head of her grave and we both stood there talking to her and crying. It was very painful as you all know. Thanks for the welcome and condolences...much appreciated. |

She was a sweetheart, T-Gal and as loving as she was pretty. Your Emma does indeed remind me of her. especially her eyes and expressions. BTW-I loved that pic of Emma sleeping behind the couch! Chloe must be a throrn in her side.
