new to forum
Hi Everyone,
I am new to your forum. I have had 2 pembroke welsh corgis. My last one died last summer of degenerative myleopathy. Has anyone else had a corgi with this disease? My name is Cathy and my pets name was Bandit. |

Welcome Cathy. I am so sorry for your loss. We do have some members with experience with DM - and I believe there were a few threads about it here maybe someone on the forum who is good at cutting and pasting could be so kind as to find the link for you and post it here so you will be able to read that thread.

Hello Cathy,
I am so very sorry to hear about Bandit. Can I ask how old he was? Some of us, including myself have lost Corgis due to illnesses over the past year. We have a member, Corgimum whose dog Montrose has DM and she just got a cart for her. Here is a link to some threads where she discussed Montrose and her situation. Hi Cathy and welcome,
I'm Deb and I lost a Corgi to cancer this summer, so I know how difficult it must have been for you to lose Bandit. CorgiMom is right - CorgiMum (Canadian spelling) has a dog with DM and she has done a lot of research on it and I believe she is involved in another forum for the disease. If you go up to the members link at the top of the page, you can find her on the list and email her directly - I know she's very busy with Montrose and her other Corgi Dylan right now and doesn't get on here daily. She'd be more than happy to communicate with you specifically about DM - she's a great person. We hope that you'll enjoy being here and are thinking of getting another Corgi in the future.
