Cheryl,
I know you don't remember this, but Sinbad only had one testicle descend. The vet told me (R Reed) that if it was not taken care of as soon as possible that it could develop into testicular cancer. That is the reason I had it done asap. Delilah has some seepage around her incision and I took her to the vet today to get all checked out. He says she is doing okay, that everything looks fine. He also told me that she was on the verge of going into heat just before he did the surgery! That's the earliest any of my girl dogs have ever gone into heat! She was just 5 month & 1 wk! Anyway, I would get Gator fixed as soon as your vet will do it. Yell if you need any help. Mom |

Dillon also had one undescended testicle. My breeder told me that she has never seen one come down after about 9 wks. so if it has not come down by now it wont. I waited until dillon was 6 months old but i was also told that it is something that really needs to be done no later than about 6 months as the longer the undescended testicle stays up there the more likely they can get cancer and other such issues. I took that to mean get it done fast!
Dillon was lucky , they made a small insicion and pop, out it came, there was no looking around or anything, talk about luck! I love that photo, he really is lovely! EMilie |
