Meet Chomper!

Something really neat happened tonight... Checkers got a new brother! He's a four month old red/white Pem that a lady was giving up because she didn't have time for him after she and her boyfriend split up. He and Checkers are already getting along wonderfully and both will sleep extra good tonight after all the playing they have been doing. He seems to have an excellent personality and there was a little girl in his previous home so hopefully that is a good indication that he will be okay with our Justin. He is mostly potty trained already... though we expect some accidents while he get used to his new surroundings. Anyhow...enough rambling for now.. I'm sure these two will give me plenty of stories to tell in the future. Here's a few pictures! Oh... and the wetness on his face in the pictures is all slobber from he and Checkers playing!

How lucky are you. Chompers seems a big Pem at only four months. He'll be a great companion for Checkers.

You can already see the bond Chompers is making in your family. He is going to get the attention he needs to grow to his full potential. This is excellent news. I wish you all the best.

Congratulations on your new pup. He is really cute. He almost seems to look as big as Checkers is. Looks like you will be able to make some frapping videos also and Justin is going to have twice the doggy kisses now.

Congrats on the new addition! Chomper is a real cutie, I do agree with Michael that he is pretty big for 4 months. He has a great smile! Those were great photos!

Well, he has been with us now overnight and for the morning. He met Justin this morning and is doing wonderfully. I'll have to watch him just to help teach him to be calmer around the baby... but he has not shown any signs at all of any kind of aggression so we feel he is going to work out very nicely.

As for how we got him... I saw an ad yesterday for him... not free but so cheap he might as well be. Talked to the hubby about him.... weighed the pros and cons of trying to add another dog at this time.... and decided to give the lady a call. We talked for a while and last night I went down with Checkers to see how the two would get along. After about a 5 second introduction they immediately went to frapping throughout her house. You could just see the grin on both of their faces! By that time I had made the decision to try and bring him into our family. So far, no accidents... he ate all his food this morning... went potty outside, and has played his heart out with Checkers and Justin. Perfect! Oh... Choppers was the name they were calling him. We thought of modifying that to Chompers in honor of our University of Florida, Gators... but we have now decided to take that one step farther and call him Gator. The names Checkers and Chomper were just too close together, I was concerned they would not know as easily which one I was calling. So.... Gator it is! More pictures... and a quick frapping video to follow!

Have you told your Grandmother that there is another "Gator" in the family? LOL I'm glad Checkers has a new buddy. I know he missed Delilah after I brought her home.
