New here, with a PWC puppy!

Hello! I've been looking for a good corgi forum for a looong time.. and I've finally found one, yippee!

I have one Corgi and two Dobermans. The dobes are my "heart breed", but we were definitely jonesin' for a "breath of fresh air" - a smaller breed that could keep up with the dobes - and the Corgi breeds were perfect! My older dobe, Ilsa, was practically raised by corgis, as a woman we trained with had four of them.

The newest addition is named Ada, and she's three months old. We're unsure of her color as of yet - her dam is tri and her sire is red/white, but Ada will either be a very deep red or even a sable. She's definitely got a mask and plenty of darker hairs on her face and along her back and saddle... but we'll see how she turns out after she loses her puppy coat. We went ahead and registered her as red and white, but she's got a future in performance (not conformation) ahead of her... so her ending coat color doesn't mean much!

Here's little A at 6 weeks old, at her breeder's house:

Eight weeks old... she's home!

Her first snow!

All tuckered out after playing with the dobes...

In this one, you can see the *possible* sabling on her face... any guesses as to what color she'll be?

And so the dobes don't feel left out...

This is Ilsa - she'll be 5 years old next month:

And Ronin... he just turned 3 years old.

Hello,

My name is Linda and my Boy's name is Cody and he is 14 months old. I love the pictures, especially the one with Ada running along side the big Doberman. Nice looking dogs.

I have to chuckle about "where you live". I used to live in Grand Island Nebraska and we always drove back home to Wisconsin every summer to visit family. It seemed to take forever to drive through Iowa; just lots of corn to look at and not much else.

Linda - Iowa is a HUGE expanse of corn, hog lots, soybean fields... nothing much out here! It's unfortunate, because I have to drive *forever* to get to any sort of show or performance event. Ilsa was bought as an Agility dog, but... there aren't any decent Agility trainers in Iowa! Ronin is a show dog, and we've got very few conformation shows out here in the "hinterlands".

Ada will be lucky however - there is a large number of herding trainers in my area, woohoo!

I really should not make fun of Iowa as Nebraska has plenty of Corn also - but it does get tiring to look at after awhile

Anyway, welcome to Go Corgi.

Ada is most likely going to be red and white. Don't see any sign of a widow's peak or monk's cap or any other traditional sable indicators.

Debbie

PS: OH YES, WELCOME!!!

Welcome !! Ada is adorable, the second photo of her sleeping on her back is so cute I ended up squealing! she has such a cute little bunnybutt!!! You have beautiful Dobies too. I love the photos! I am mom to a 20 month old red and white pem named Dillon. I am guessing that Ada will be red and white as well.
Welcome again!

There are several good ones. Corgi L and Pembroke L are very good e mail lists.

Congratulations on your new puppy. She's a cutie!

I don't see any sableing on her. She'll be a red and white. And I think a medium red. She looks pretty typical to me not a deep red.

Those Dobermans are sure lucky having a born chief in Ada - because I can see her taking control over them and her new human family. What a beauty. And great pics too. Your registration colours are correct. I see that things might get tougher in the USA for motorists as there is at last some kind of wake up call on environmental issues, so it is even more imperative that if it is at all possible, that you live in a area which has the kind of facilities you want, close at hand. I am very lucky in that regard and might be even more so because I am trying to influence the New Zealand Kennel Club to shift its headquarterrs ( which currently are a 25 minute drive away from my house) including conformation/obedience and dog sports facilities, to a walk away from where I live.
