Talking Hello

Hi everyone,

My name is Janet Lynn and I am from Connecticut. My dear Corgi's name is Gigi and she is a three year old Tri who is going to her first agility event this Sunday. We have been in training for almost a year now and Gigi just adores going to school each week. This Sunday is not a competition but just what is called a Run Through where we get to go and do agility courses at another location. We are both very excited about this and will let you know how we make out.

Well, good luck! I hope you are better handler than I am. Liam hasn't tried agility yet, but when I was showing my other dog, I made most of the mistakes. Have fun.

Handlers

Gigi is the winner here, I still get lost on the courses. It's just fun anyway so I know we will have a great day. She barks at me every time I make a mistake - she has no compassion!!! Silly dog.

Gigi - my Taylor tells me off when he thinks I have screwed up during an agility contest. It's the only time he talks at agility. We have been at it for almost two years and Taylor is verging on excellent and I am ok at the level I am at but Taylor can go much further especially if they had different competitions for small dogs instead of lumping them in with midis and maxis.
Still, Taylor will gain a valued title before long - as soon as we can accomplish the dreaded seesaw.

Hi Janet,
It's good to hear what Gigi has been up to. Sounds like you guys are doing well in the agility. I think you remember Toby, my little tri male. Jessie sure has enough pictures of him. Good luck on Sunday.

Gigi and Agility

Good morning everyone,

Thanks so much for the welcome - I know Gigi appreciates it too!

Her name came from her registered name which is "Lynwoods Gorgeous Girl" but even without that Gigi kind of suits here.

I started her with this trainer in Puppy Kindergarten where she excelled EXCEPT in group play - she failed. She fell in love with a nice guy from my town and every time there was group play she jumped in Patrick's lap and snuggled him. He of course LOVED it. Ain't that just like a girl. Hee Hee. We then did some obedience and moved to agility. This IS Gigi's thing. She so loves it - just makes you happy to see her work. Vocal is her name - she is worse than the Border Collies. She is vocallizing through most of the course. She is a very loving and silly gal. She is not my first Corgi but she is a very special one.

Gigi is here because TOBY's Grandma sent me an email telling me to join. We are both crazy fiber people.

Have a super weekend everyone and if you are in New England put on may layers - I just looked and it is below zero here and windy! Winter is here.

Janet & Gigi

Janet you must live inland from the coast. I live in Mass. on the NH border and our temp this morning is only three above. I think the fact that I am near the ocean keeps us a little warmer.
My Duchess is friendly to people but she generally gives dogs a little growl when she meets them.
There is getting to be enough of us Gocorgi people in New England that we could get a picnic together in the summer. I would love to have Duchess meet other corgi. I say meet because she has never really played with dogs since I got her over a year ago.
Welcome Janet.

Wouldn't it be such fun to have a Corgi get together in New England. I'm in CT, the Northwest part, right next to Sheffield, MA and Dutchess Cty, NY
