corgi favorite chore
Just got finished with my kitchen clean-up. While I put the dishes in the dishwasher The Girls mopped the kitchen floor... they like to do it the old fashion way - with their tongues.
I know some day they hope to also "wash the dishes" and "clean the counters" but I don't think we will ever see eye to eye on those chores. They also like to help me garden... always willing to lend a paw when I am planting or if they see a pesky weed they will dig it up for me. Sometimes those roots grow deep but they keep right at it till there is no danger of the weed growing back. Just wondering what are your corgi's favorite chores around the house

Cody's favorite chores are cleaning off an occasional dish before it goes into the dishwasher; washing out the kitty bowls when they are done eating, cleaning their litter box of unwanted tootsie rolls (okay, I know, that is gross, and I fixed that problem), picking up food wrappers that my teens may leave on their bedroom floor. Helping to exercise the kitty's once in awhile by occasionally chasing them(but only when the kitty is telling him that this is okay) pushing all his balls under the furniture which helps me at the end of the day when I go to put all his toys away;(what you don't see, doesn't bother you); and best of all, cleans my own face with his slobbery kisses

Wicca and Sam don't work unless I ask them too- in fact the only thing they do is more of a trick than a chore- If tell them to pick up their toys they will gather all the toys up and put them in the toy box-only to drag them out five minutes later......
oh- and they "help" with laundry- Sam likes to gather socks so by the time I get around to washing whites he has all the socks in a neat little pile... Other than that there are no chores for my two.....mind you I am sure that they too would like the chance to clean dishes and counter tops.. -amanda

Some of Cody's favorite chores are; Floor sweeper, cat dish cleaner, litter box inspector; which used to include tootsie roll picker upper(No longer does that; I fixed him on that one) Monitoring the cats when they eat; to make sure they do not overeat Helping to exercise the cats by chasing them if they invite him to. Letting me know that dad is home so I can get supper on the table; shoving toys under the furniture so I don't have so much to pick up at the end of the day(what you don't see, doesn't bother you) and my favorite; personal face cleaner.

Linda - it sounds like Cody and Rupert are in the same union and have the same job description! Sadly, though, Rupert still "cleans" the cat litter box!
Rupert and Jemma's main job is to carry my mitts or gloves to the apartment when we come in. When we come in the building lobby, I take their collars off and they run to the 1st floor landing. I toss up my mitts or gloves and they each take one and carry them up the 3 flights of stairs. Sometimes they decide they want the one the other has and there's a tug-of-war, and Rupert likes to drop his so I can throw it for him. Jemma will often leave hers outside the door but I just ask Rupe to bring it home and he'll run out, grab it and deposit it by my boots. We were just out and I didn't wear any gloves or mitts and they just stood on the 1st floor landing staring at me as if I was lying!

Susie is the "chore dog." She follows the person who is feeding the sheep and goats, but just observes when the horses are fed. At night she helps check for lambs taking care to avoid protective mamas.
Rusty and Redhead are "bird dogs." Chasing sparrows from the fences and trees brings happy corgi smiles. Running along the fence to make sure cars and trucks keep moving down the road is another job they enjoy. Rusty loves to play ball and taught Redhead to play too. From the first day, Rusty has been his little brother's baby sitter. He seemed to know that they were related. All of them make sure that no bit of food is left for anyone else. They particularly like to clean peanut butter jars. They cannot get to the bit on the bottom, but they clean the sides better than we can do with a 'child cheater'.

Chip's job is to watch that Mom doesn't go outside without him going along. He also herds lady into her special place to eat and cleans her dish after she is finished eating. He has to test every new toy, bed or cookie prior to anyone else to ensure safety or taste meets his standards. He has done such a good job that he has been promoted to supervisor of his baby brother and watches over him liking any doting big brother should.

Mazie has both inside and outside duties.
She is our personal paper shredder - there will be no identity theft on her watch - any paper that hits the floor doesn't stand a chance. She also likes to help daddy keep the fire going in the fireplace...she likes to taste the edges of all the wood in the house to make sure that it is dry enough. And she is face washer to daddy (especially behind the ears!) - I must do a good enough job on my own because she leaves me alone.Outside she found joy in rearranging the mulch in our flower beds this past summer. And she searches out any cat poo and personally disposes of it in her belly .Lisa |

Montana's favorite job is watching me cook dinner to make sure if I drop anything it gets picked up. UMMMM!!!! When her daddy was here she had to make sure that daddy wasn't to close to mommy. Daddy couldn't even hug me without him hearing about it. LOL! She makes sure the birds stay out of her yard. And well she is a bit of a gardner herslef. I haven't figured out quite yet what she is looking for in all those wholes she has in my yard but she always has a big Corgi smile on her face as if she didnt do anything wrong.

Dudley is such a good boy and doesn't want me to be bored so he constantly comes up with things for me to do
I mop, he gets the floor dirty again. I pick up toys, he gets them out. I vacuum, he sheds a ton all over the place. I make the bed, he jumps on it and pulls the covers up. I pick up poo, he poos some more

I posted this one before but there are some new people on since:
My sister has screaming nightmares on a regular basis. Duchess's job is to go in her room barking to wake the dreamer up. Duchess alerts me and I have to open the door for her to take care of the problem. This always works and saves me a lot of hollering, and it is much more effective than my trying to wake the sleeper. |

Zia's favorite chore is to help Zip bring in the morning paper. Of course, you don't get the paper until they get a treat. Zia also likes to help keep the kitchen floor clean by tipping her water bowl so that water goes everywhere. This is where mom steps in with the paper towels to clean the floor.

Well, first of all, my two are lazy slugs compared to this crowd! Man, have I ever gone wrong!
But! Recently with the very cold weather, Tucker has been very helpful dusting the molding/floorboards. He hates wearing a jacket/sweater so as soon as I get it on him, he runs around the room frantically rubbing agains the floor/wall in hopes it will come off. Otherwise, their best job is as traffic cops. We have a 40 MPH speed limit on the road in front of our house. If a truck is going too fast my two will start on the side of the house, race the truck along their fenceline, then take a victory lap around the house for slowing them down. Yes, I hate this habit! But they never do it anywhere but in the safety of their own yard! Had a chat w/ the Pet Psychic about it, she "communicated to them, but being Tuck and Lu, they clearly didn't listen!

Ponzo has a few chores: My favorite is "fix it", which is where he messes the area rug up when we play ball with him but then on command goes back and unrolls the rug until lays perfectly flat on the floor again (I taught him that one out of sheer laziness on my part). Now for my husband, Ponzo is feet washer~He loves nothing more than my husband's fresh off the treadmill sweaty sock feet to lick clean! Also, Ponzo takes great care whenever I am in the kitchen to clean any messes that may hit the floor. He just lays on the linoleum and then springs to action just before the object hits the ground everytime!
