Hi from newbies - 03-20-2006, 03:33 PM

Just wanted to say hello to all here on GoCorgi!!!! Those of us blessed enough to be chosen as hooman's of these precoscious 4 leggeds are one in a million....how lucky we are!

My name is shannon, and I am blessed with two adult rescue corgis, Corey(6 year old r&w pem) and Empress Woo(10 year old female retired commercial breeder that is r&w as well, and was in a mill for around 8 years). I also am mom to two two legged teens, shaina(17) and Ian(13), who still enjoy spending time with their momma(I know, it won't last ).

We enjoy attending corgi picnics and also chatting with other corgi people....and love learning new things about this wonderful canine companion.

Blessings.....

Shannon(mncorgimum), Corey, and Empress Woo

Hi Shannon
I've organised a Corgi picnic (and 45 minute walk in the woods) for this coming Sunday. There are now 23 Corgis - 9 of them Cardis - and 14 families in the group. Since it is my birthday the following day of the picnic, I am baking a Corgi Cake for one section of the picnic to enjoy and providing a couple of bottles of bubbly wine for the others.

Happy Birthday Michael! Remember when we were lamenting that there was no action on GoCorgi and you said "just wait" You were right. I almost get overloaded with all the daily messages. But there is always new people and new questions whatever time of day I check. You deserve a lot of the credit for what the site has become.

Ditto, Jane it is wonderful that this site has become so active. I am always surprised by the number of new posts there are everyday. Keep up the good work, as a famous movie once said "If you build it they will come". Happy Birthday Michael.

Shannon, welcome to the site and you are so right about being chosen to be the human companion to the most wonderful dogs in the world. As for your two legged teens and them still enjoying spending time with their momma don't worry about that time not lasting. I have a 25 year old married daughter that still calls me mommy and loves to spend time with me, she and her friends invite me to go with them for their girl outings. I know that I am blessed with having such a great daughter, and I bet your teens will continue to enjoy spending time with their momma.

Thanks Jane and Jh for your sentiments. Boy, this site has really mushroomed.
I've become the Go Corgi Moderator and I did "celebrate" the fact by playing with a message that Jane had sent on another thread - but it was just to correct a couple of spelling errors. Something I won't normally be doing. I did get Stephen, the Go Corgi Admin to double the 'Recent Threads' column on the home page because it will help to retain discussions on the latest batch of threads and the threads won't get "lost" so quickly.

[b]Michael,
I was shocked and insulted that you would play with my spelling. I am aware that some of my words may be misspelled but it is not your place to correct them. Are you correcting other people's spelling as well? I have found what I thought was mistakes in the context of your sentences but " what the heck" I knew what you meant.
What does a moderator do?

Sorry Michael! I think I saw the goof I made that you corrected. I was upset because I thought I would never know and therefore to learn from it.

Thanks Jane. But I thnik you should read my post again because it is self-explaining Don't be too quick to feel insulted and shocked. Worse can happen. A Moderator moderates the language and abuse of any postings among other things.
