My growing Cardigan cadre - 02-08-2007, 10:36 PM

Thought I'd share some of the new additions around GlenCorgi. Cardiguy, pay particular attention to the little brindle girl, she just happens to be Ruby's niece.

This is Gingersnap, 3 months old. Second photo is of her with Munchee. Third she is checking Angel's tonsils. (Angel is a girl I'm keeping for her breeder who has had bad health lately.) Fourth photo is with Berry and Angel. The last one is of Ginger and Berry's sister Scarlett O'Beara.

Debbie,
I don't keep up on post so well that I know your crew of Corgis. I know you take in rescue dogs and also have some of your own. How many do you have altogether right now? And are the young ones related (from one litter)?

They look like they are having fun, and Gingersnap is a very pretty cardi...nice to see photo of Berry again, haven't seen a recent one - last time there was a photo that I saw of Berry, she was a little tiny thing! She is growing up quick! I do so love that Blue merle Cardi look- Munchee is very lovely...hard to see markings well when in action though LOL! Thanks for sharing..

It's so nice to see your family - again they look like they have a wonderful life together - love to see them all interacting - there's nothing better!

Jane, the collection of corgis around here fluctuates in numbers. Out of the ones pictured, Berry and Ginger are only ones that are mine (on co-ownership). Of the little ones, Berry and Scarlett are littermates. Munchee is my nephew's and he's 18 months now. A breeder friend has been very ill for a while and I'm helping to watch some of her dogs. Angel is her's and Scarlett had been up living with her, so those two I'm "babysitting."

Pem rescues, I believe our program has 6 to 8 in foster care, not all of them with me. They can be seen at http://www.ppwcc.org/rescue-for-me.html

My own passel of Pems are seniors now ranging from 13 down to 7 in age.

Emilie, yes Berry has some longish looking puppy coat, influence of which can be traced back to some of her Coedwig ancestry. When she blows out her puppy coat, it will be normal. She takes after her dam in that aspect.

The blue merles, they are a favorite. And with the three there you can see some of the variations in shades. Munchee is a darker blue almost - steel blue/grey. Angel and Scarlett more towards the powder blue. Berry and Scarlett's brother Leo, now he's an interesting blue - more in line with what is known as a cryptic blue. He had gone home when I took these photos so didn't catch him cavorting this time.

Another thing for new puppy owners to note is the weight - Berry in her solo picture looks rather thin. This is how fast things can change, like almost overnight. I've had to up her food a bit to compensate for her growing spurt.

They are all so beautiful Deb! I don't know any Cardis personally, but I sure would like too.

The Cardigan Collective says thank you for all the compliments. Collective works better here, because with this many Cardis about, they tend to go into Borg mode (Star Trek Enterprise reference) and try to confince me "resistance is futile."

Very pleased with these guys, all coming on nicely.

Okay - everyone here already knows I am a geek, so there's no harm in me saying THAT WAS HYSTERICAL DEBBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a nice looking bunch you have there. I don't know any cardis either. But the more I hear from you, and the other cardi parents on here, the more I want to meet some!!!
