Re intro
Hello all. My name is Shannon and I live with my (now) 3 corgi's in Rochester MN. I believe we introduced ourselves before, but finally know how to post pictures so I wanted to share the family with you all. I live with The Empress Woo(who has her own intro under Senior corgi's), Corey, and the new kid on the block, Jessie(otherwise known as puppy-wuppy). We also share our home with my ex husband's cat, KC(short for kittycat) who preferred our living arrangements when we went separate ways. All 3 corgi's are Pems. Corey, now at least 8 yrs, is the red and white of the bunch, and his coat is a very soft (not tight) texture, but not a fluff. He came from the local no-kill shelter after being found wandering on his own outside the city of Rochester. He was the first Corgi to wrap his paws around my heart.
Empress Woo came into my life a few months after Corey, and was a CorgiAid gal from 2004. She is a sable and white senior that spent much of her life a slave to the mills in OK. She was awarded the certificate for "Corgi with the Shortest Ears" at the MN/IA corgi picnic in 2005, as she has very limited ear leather, and is tattoo'd inside both ears. The newest addition to the family is Jessie. This little guy came to us after a miller could not sell him and was offering him for FREE in the newspaper. After much discussion on the Corgi-L, my daughter and I drove to Iowa and picked up the little FREE guy(who's USDA papers say SOLD AS IS) on January 20th 2007 with the intention of a possible foster, and the Empress Woo decided that he was her's. And with each day he develops more and more into the corgi that he was supposed to be from day 1. We do call him a puppy, as he is learning now to be one, and it is his antics and goofyness that led us to call him Jester, or Jessie for short. Once he was bathed we found him to be a sable and white, with distinctive black markings similar to a mask on his face, and floppy ears. People ask me if he is a mini St Bernard or a St Bernard puppy. I smile, as does he. I will attempt to post their pictures. Corey's picture is more his hindside. He is very hard to photograph as he does not sit still much. The pictures of Jessie are from early January, when we asked the miller for a photo of him and she sent these three to us. We could not leave him there after seeing the picture of him cowering. Take care... Shannon , the corgi's 3 and KC the sunshine cat Rochester, MN |

Welcome Shannon & gang! Jessie (nice name BTW! - not that I'm biased! :yeah: ) looks so sad in those pics. I'll bet he looks much happier now!!! Your three corgis were lucky to find you, and I guess KC agrees it's a nice place to live!! Your house must be constant

Hey Shannon, What's that white stuff those dogs are standing on? Winter in Houston is different than MN! Oh Jessie with the long brown ears... My kids like to make Liam do doggy impressions and he does a greyhound (ears pulled back), sheltie (ears tipped over), beagle, (ears pulled down), etc. etc. They all laugh - even Liam. I can't wait to show them the mini St. Bernard!

Welcome Shannon!
What a great pem story! My name is Erica and I also call Minnesota home (as my username might suggest). I'm from the Twin Cities area but have family in Rochester as well. My pup's name is Penny (born April 2006) and she's a Pembroke. Some of our favorite activities are visiting the lakes, dog parks, and—when it gets too cold—rollerblading in our apartment's underground parking garage.
I'm planning on going to this year's MN/IA Corgi picnic for the first time, which I believe will be in Wells, MN again. Hope to see you there! Being a newbie dog owner, I don't have much in the way of useful information to contribute, so I don't post often; but I'm glad you've joined. As you may have already discovered, you've got a dynamic corgi resource at your fingertips here. There's a lot of information and sometimes it's just plain fun. Again, welcome! |

Welcome,
I love Empress Woo's name. The photo of your corgi on the grass so happy reminded me how much my dog was thrilled to visit the city and find some cool grass in the summer. I'm in so calif mountains, the lower side so we get the slush and one inch of snow each storm so far this winter. Merrie |

Thanks everyone! We are not a glum lot here, that is for sure. And anyone can come down or over or up anytime to join in the fun. I was just down on the floor with Jessie frapping with him.....it looked really really funny I am sure...hope we weren't on candid camera! LOL!
Today was Jessie's one year barkday, and on Feb 20 we also celebrated his 1 month gotcha day. Could not imagine life without him here now. He is all puppy despite his age. All three licked their bowls clean tonight as they got special turkey and gravy mixed in. My usual picky corgi, Corey, ate everything and looked for more. He is one that is a perpetual motion machine and have not a worry with obesity, so he got seconds. Jessie savors every morsel of his and tends to eat most at night in his crate. I call him a grazer. We hope everyone is safe and warm tonight. We are getting heavy ice and a blizzard to come here in Southern MN.....and are praying that we don't lose electricity, as the wind is picking up and the electric wires and trees are covered with thick ice. Take care all and thank you. I can't wait to post the new pics of Jessie and teh gang in a few weeks. Blessings, Shannon Corey, Empress Woo, KC, adn Jessie Wintery Southern MN(Rochester) |

Shannon - congrats on keeping your crew of Corgis together. There is nothing like competition to make a Corgi eater become much less picky about food.
