Pembroke & Cardigan Welsh Corgi

I'm mommy to a 10 yr old Pembroke named Millie - or Baby, my pet name for her. I've already posted a couple times in the grooming section asking about "undercarriage protection" and I got plenty of great replies. This seems like a wonderful place to learn about and chat up about our corgis.

Millie has been a wonderful pet all these years and now seems to be slowing down a little in her old(er) age. We love her to pieces but we're also looking for another Corgi to join the family. This time we want a Cardigan. We played with a few at the Detroit dog show last weekend - what a blast! But what I'm learning is that Cardigans are pretty hard to find, so it may take a while. I know, they are worth the wait!

Welcome, mtoy! I am also a Michigander-Corgi owner!! Our girl is a red and white Fluffy Pem named ChloeLouise - she is almost 2 years old and the darling of our empty-nest household. We live "Up North" but get to the Detroit area a couple times a year. We were sad to miss the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show this past weekend - we try to get down for it when we can. Last year we, also, were VERY charmed by the BEAUTIFUL Cardis!! Did you watch them in the judging ring? I fell head over heels for their winsome personalities and bushy tails!! Last year there were NO Pembrokes at the DKC Show - Did you see any this year??

Anyway - glad you found your way here with Millie!! Hope you continue to find good information for your Corgi with the friendly folks on this board!

Hello to Millie and her Mom!

I am a mixed Corgi Household: Tucker (2) is a pem and Lulu (10 mo) is a Cardi. I loved the bunny butt but Lulu and her tail crack me us.

Both are wonderful dogs.

Welcome, Millie and Mom! My 6 month old r/w pem, Zia, is my first corgi. She is spoiled rotten! We also have a spoiled 8-year old blonde cocker, Zip.

My Mazie is almost 15 months old - she is my first Pem Corgi and I have really fallen for the breed.

Welcome to the site! I used to be a strictly Pem fan, but the more Cardis I "meet" here, the more I love them! I have only met one Cardi in person (and that quite recently), and she is truly a wonderful dog - full of personality!
