Corbin looks just lovely. Two questions - has he got both ears up now and is there a story behind the naming of him because quite possibly Corbin as a name is unusual. If it was Corban however I would say that you were possibly a wine buff. New Zealand Corban wine is internationally recognised and producers of some very very good wine, and is named after the surname of the vineyards founder.

Thank you all for your Welcome!
Corbin doesn't have both ears up right now. I'm hoping it will come up, but I'm resigned to taping in a couple weeks if we have to. As for his name, we actually named him after Korben Dallas, the main character in the movie The Fifth Element. His mother was Leeloo, so we thought it was kind of fitting. I didn't know about the wine connection, even though we are incipient wine buffs. We haven't tried many New Zealand wines yet, however, we might now have to try a Corban wine! |

Cute name! I love that movie, its one of my favorites! Your Corgi baby is a beauty. What do you think about his super sharp baby teeth? They are like needles when they get playful! No wonder mommy dogs want to get them weaned ASAP
Welcome to you and Corbin!!!! Last edited by Michael Romanos; 03-20-2007 at 05:52 PM. |

Mantha - I attended a wine tasting session at a cafe-bar a couple of months ago and was privilege to sample New Zealand's most expensive locally priduced still wines. A coupled retailed at $130 and the rest were around $90 to $106. It was a pleasure to drink and not worry about the costs. A good Corban chardonnay would sell at around $23 in NZ. We get lots of Australian wine in NZ. This summer was a good one for NZ wine - especially the late harvest type - lots of drizzily rain then a nice four weeks of hot weather as part of a late summer period.
By the way, I know now why our famous glaciers in the South Island of NZ are growing again after years of receding. It is the warm climate change which is doing it!. It is all to do with Australia. Aussie weather is rapidly getting hotter and creating the worse droughts ever experienced in Australia. So this very warm air sweeps across the Tasman Sea and mixes in with weather patterns coming out of the South Pole and Whoops-de-do, it produces snow which beats down on the glaciers and they start to grow again - and pretty rapidly too and as least as quick as they had been receding over the last 30 years. |
