New Soon To Be Cardi Owner -
04-13-2006, 09:22 PM
Hi Everyone! I've been browsing the site for a while and have learned quite a bit about corgis, so I finally decided to become a full-fledged member
Just wanted to say a quick hello and tell you a bit about myself.
On April 29th, (16 days and counting) I'm getting my first corgi puppy. He is a cardigan welsh corgi, which from looking around the site, I see that there aren't too many on here. There's a picture of him in my avatar at his now home. His name is Dudley and I am extremely anxious to be getting him.
I'm really looking forward to learning more about corgis as I go and getting to know my new family member
Jeni

Hi Jeni
Nice name, Dudley. Good choice of breed. Dudley looks super. There are plenty of Cardi dads and moms who are members of Go Corgi.

Jeni,
Welcome, and congratulations on your soon to be new arrival. He looks adorable. I love the name. We almost named our Pem. Dudley and then thought of Dewey, but went with Cody in the end. Good luck to you.

Welcome aboard and good choice. I have a 4 yr. old female cardigan and have always liked the Cardi's bigger size and larger ears not to mention the big bushy foxlike appendage at the end of its body which is a visual barometer of my pooches feelings. When Ruby is happy her tail just sweeps from side to side, when she is waiting for food her tail is down and when the food is brought in her direction the tail starts moving. I just love watching her tail as it is just so expressive. Just get her socialized early as the Cardigan is more suspicious of strangers than the Pembroke. Unfortunately Ruby can be a handful outside when she sees people/dogs on her walk.

Dudley is 4 weeks old in that picture; he is now six weeks old (almost seven). I picked the cardi for many of the reasons cardiguy suggested, and who couldn't love that tail!
