Hello There!
Yesterday I got a female Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She is about 18 weeks old and her name is Bridget. She is so sweet and loving. I'm very excited! I have two kids. My girl is almost 2 and my boy is 5 1/2. I feel this is going to be very good for them. Bridget is playful and gentle at the same time. I'm so glad I finally got aother dog. I've never had a Corgi but I grew up with dogs. I haven't had one in about 8 years, but I finally talked my hubby into getting one. I'm excited to get to know you all!

Bridget certainly looks a lively little lass and you and your young family must indeed be very excited. Where has Bridget been for the past 18 weeks, apart from waitng impatiently for you to turn up?

She was at a breeder right outside of town with lots and lots of other Corgis. This lady has her work cut out for her. All of the dogs were extremely well cared for and there were just so many.
So Bridget's used to being in the country. We live smack dab in the middle of town. She's finally getting used to the noise and my kids. My almost 2 year old has had to be restrained. She was just so excited about the puppy that I think Bridget got scared of her. But she's better with her today. |

Bridget - I'd be very cautious about the contact your two year old has with your pup. Two-four year old kids are sometimes a Corgi's worse friends because they don't always know how to treat a Corgi properly, carefully and with respect - and Corgis can lose their patience and they can be 'wrecked' for life because of toddlers on the 'warpath.'

You are catching on to a very important lesson. It is just as important to train the children as it is to train the puppy. Many a corgi ends up in rescue because of incidents like with your 2 year old.
