It has been a while, but yes I've whelped and assisted in whelping puppies before. I don't think I could really talk you through via the internet or this forum. Is there not a breeder somewhere or even the breeder of your bitch or the owner of the stud dog you could reach by phone to help talk you through? I hope you have your vet's number handy and that he/she is on stand by should you need to go in for a section - that's part of the prenatal care to have the vet on standby. And one rule that was ingrained deeply in me, IF your girl goes more than an hour between puppies - call the vet and be ready to go to his/her office. What's her temperature? What kind of whelping supplies do you have on hand? Box with a heating pad all set? Loads of towels ready? Hemostats? Alcohol? Unwaxed dental floss for tying off cords? Corgi puppies can be slow to start and need some effort to get them going. Oh and a suction bulb to clear nostrils. Hope this helps ... Debbie |
