Charlie - 10-23-2007, 07:28 PM

Hi I,m Curtis Capelle in Ohio. I have a 4 year old corgi named Charlie and he has been a great boy with the grand sons and a 14 year mixed collie. He's a tri color with a redish head. The vet called him a red head, has any one else heared that term before?

Thanks

Hi
did you notice that things start with 'C' with you. Your names (Curtis Capelle), your Corgi, Charlie, your Collie-cross - how cool, curious.

You have a red headed tri as opposed to a black headed tri. At least with the red headed type, you can distinguish the eyes in the shade and dim lit rooms, ha. The black headed tri is not all-black on the head but the black is predominant.

My Pem, Taylor is also four. He's a red and white fellow.

Hi Curtis and Charlie,
Welcome to Go Corgi! Where in Ohio do you live? I live about 35 miles east of Columbus.

Yes, red headed tri and black headed tri are common terms to distinguish between the two types. The black headed tri has a black mask surrounding the eyes. The red headed tri does not.
