Introducing me and my corgi's - 12-18-2007, 04:42 AM

Hi my names Sue and me and my crew live in Michigan.
I have 4 pem corgi's and 5 other breed dogs. All are rescues. My corgi crew consist of Foxy f/s 8 yrs. old and I have had her 6 months. Her sons Boomer m/n 2and 1/2 yr. had since 4 months old. Moose m/n he's 1 and 1/2 had him since 10 weeks old. And my new rescue Jake m/n and he is 1 and 1/2 had him 3 weeks. All red and white. When I rescued Boomer, I paid to have his mom Foxy spayed (she'd had a number of litters all ready) but the people didn't spay her. When I found out she had a new litter of two pups (Moose and his sister )I went and got the pups. Foxy had to have a c-section to have the last pup and the vet insisted she be spayed. After 8 litters her uterus was too over worked to work. I heard Foxy owners were lossing there farm and I offered to take Foxy and all there other puppy makers. I got the other dogs spayed and placed. I couldn't place my boys mom, I mean she gave me my boys.
Foxy lived outside her whole 8 yrs. even when she had pups just loose on a horse farm not even a dog house. She has a number of untreated injuries to her knees and has terriable hip dyplasia so now she is arthritit through out her body and is over weight. I am working on her weight and she gets supplements for her arthritis. We have stairs to her couch and my bed and she has a heated bed on the floor.
She's my princess and I couldn't love any dog more(don't tell the others). She's now a very loved and spoiled couch potato. Boomer is perfect and he has his tail so he has lots of personality. Moose although a wonderful pup has had none stop medical issues with his front legs. He has had numerous surgeries to try and correct his legs. I can't afford any more and I have decided not to put him through any more. He is on supplements and walks with a limp and has good days (lots) and bad (runs to hard and plays to rough)but is a champ. Jake is my newest guy. I rescued him from a neglectful home. He is great and although I was suppose to foster him to adopt him out I think he has found his forever home with me. He left his old home and never looked back. I am very blessed. I would like to foster for corgi rescue but I'd never rehome them.
So that's my story and I am sticking to it.
Thank, Sue and the crew

Welcome to the board - we would love to see pics of your crew. It sounds like you are doing a good work rescuing these corgis. I have three and it makes for very entertaining times.

Hi Sue,
This is a wonderful place for Corgi fans!
It's always wonderful to hear about an old timer who's been through difficult times, end up in a place where they have no worries.
All the best to you and your lucky gang ( 2 legged and 4 legged during this upcoming holiday season!!
Wynn
