My name is Len Smith, My wife's name is Kim,
We are dedicated absolute Corgi lovers. We had a Pem tri by the name of Shaba, she was 5yr. 11 months old. You may notice I am writing in the past tense relating to her. Two months ago we lost our beloved precious child to a freak occurance. Something either bit or stung her in her mouth, her throat swelled closed and she died in the emergency room of cardiac arrest. According to the Vet, an extreme alleric reaction. It is an understatement to say that our hearts were broken and the shock of losing her suddenly and at such an early age was nearly unbearable. We have no other children and Shaba was our child.

I am here on this site to help us find another Corgi, and find just the right one for us. We are not interested in a dog bred specifically for showing, we want a pure bredworking, pet quality dog. One with a definite Pembroke Corgi personality. I know that just the right one is out there for us somewhere, and hopefully this forum will help us find one.

I will look forward to communicating with many other Corgi savy participants of this forum.

Regards... Len Smith

Hi Len and Kim
So sorry to hear of your sad loss and so terribly sudden and unexpected. Even from here in New Zealand, I can help you locate a reputable Pem breeder but you never mentioned the town/city and state where you live. Your description of what Corgi puppy you desire is a little confusing but I'm sure you mean that you would like a puppy from show quality parentage (ie excellent conformation) though the pup need not necessarily be of show standard.
Some Americans think little of travelling great distances to get the dog they want. I recently read where a couple travelled for 15 hours to choose the puppy they wanted from a litter four weeks old, and then went back to see their chosen pup each week for four or five weeks before they actually could bring their boy/girl home.
I must say, two and a half years ago, I scouted out of my region - and indeed my island - to get the kind of Pem baby I wanted. And it worked out perfectly well. When I say "scouted", it was all arranged by telephone and email and then eventually me and my family arriving at the airport to greet a 13 week old Corgi.
