Smile Jumping in...

Hi Everyone....

I'm so glad to have found a Corgi website with fellow addicts that will understand me! I have two dogs at this time. One is my 10 year old shep mix, Cheyenne. The other is Checkers, 1 year old male, red-headed tri-colored PWC and cause for my addiction. He is laying across my feet even as I type this. I swear I have owned a lot of different breeds (and mutts) in my life but I will never again own a dog that isn't a corgi (or possibly the related SV, but haven't seen one of those yet in person so it's not as likely). Anyhow... I am also a new mom (my son is 5 months old now) and he is getting fussy so I must run without further ado. Here is a picture of Checkers in the meantime...

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

-Cheryl

So nice to meet you, Cheryl and Checkers!
I know you will find this site interesting and friendly - as I did! My Corgi is ChloeLouise, a Fluffy red and White Pem who is just over a year old. I find useful information every time I visit this site ...and looking at the photo gallery is such fun!! Enjoy!

Okay... got hubby taking care of little one for minute so I can post a picture of my other puppy love Cheyenne. She is a very unusual dog...she isn't terribly fond of cuddling.... enjoys having her own space in fact. But she is extremely loyal. Think strong silent type... and completely not like a corgi in any way. She has been with me since I was seventeen years old... through thick and thin, six different moves from FL to Utah and another move looming on the horizon. She is my rock. Sadly these days she is starting to suffer some from back pain, but it is still very manageable and most days doesn't effect her much at all. There will never ever be another dog like her in my entire life... with that said, meet Cheyenne.

There will never ever be another Cheryl in Cheyenne's life...either !!

You are very blessed to have eachother...I am so happy that you have been brought together to love & care for one another.

" Everything that we do in life...and everyone who we meet in life...
HAS PURPOSE !! So, you met eachother...& love eachother...ON PURPOSE "

** Cheryl, I adopted a beautiful peachy colored short haired Tabby kitten from an Animal Shelter in Woodway, Texas almost 10 years ago.

I named her: "Sunshine".

She was my best friend...my comforter...my loyal companion...MY ROCK. She learned how to, "fetch". She learned how to, "talk". She learned how to, "sit" & "lay down" & "come here". (YES....she is a cat !!)

She was/IS the best cat that I have ever had !!

I was in a family car accident (I was the driver..) on my way FROM California moving to my current home here in Nixa, Missouri. We were pulling a U~Haul trailor and hit a nasty wind gust in Wyoming. The trailor jack~knifed and tipped on it's side...then, my Expedition rolled ! We rolled about 3-4 times.

I...lost...Sunshine that day ! (July 6th 2005)

By the grace of God (and his angels)...we all made it...but, Sunshine Kitty got outta her kitty carrier.

THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON...I probably never would have Sunshine & Midnight in my life.......IF we never had the car accident and IF we never lost Sunshine Kitty.

Like the song, " You are the wind beneath my wings "
Sunshine Kitty...is watching out for my happiness.

{ Okay...way too deep ! I'll stop. }

Just wanted to let ya know...I too know the feeling of a strong BOND.
I have that now again with BOTH my girls: Midnight & Sunshine !

Cheyenne is so lucky to have you in her life... as so are you to also have her !

Dogs...& kitties...are also WOMEN'S BEST FRIENDS...too !!

*~* Nikki

We hear such touching stories here on gocorgi - Cheryl and Nikki, both your stories put lumps in my throat... Amazing how much effect these four-leggeds have on the quality of our lives! So much love and devotion... (Nikki, we need some king of *symbol* to indicate a 'heart', don't you think?)

Hi Cheryl,

I have a male tri who is 4 years old, named Rupert and after losing my lovely red and white female recently, we are getting Rupert a new Corgi sister on Saturday.
Checkers looks like a handsome boy - and that he likes the water - Rupe loves water -preferably mud, but water is good too.

Welcome to the gang here at GoCorgi!

Deb and Rupe

Your pictures of checkers are so cute, I would love to see some of those "water" ones up close - I like the one on the raft and is that him jumping into the pool? - guess I need stronger glasss.

Welcome to go corgi! You have 2 very good-looking doggies - they make wonderful additions to the gocorgi family! I have a 1yo female fluffy pem named Jackie.

I agree with the need for a heart smilie! I would have used it about a million times already!

Okay.. added several more pictures to my gallery, including full size shots of him playing in his pool just for you Linda. The pool was his first birthday present and he loved playing in it.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. Hopefully I'll catch up on previous posts and get a chance to join in on others real soon!

I love the pics - my favorite....Biting at the sprinkler water; with the butt shot of him jumping into the pool coming in second. All very cute.
