Saturday the 4th I will meet my new puppy for the first time. I am so very excited! I do not have a name for him yet. I know what he looks like but I need to meet this little sweetheart before I can officially name him. My husband likes the name "Pickles". Makes me smile everytime I hear it. I was going to adopt a 4 year old Corgi who was a rescue dog but the lady said he seemed more comfortable in the other home she visited. I was pretty heartbroken because he was such a nice dog and already trained, but the most important thing is that he went to the home that was best for him.
Anyway, I look forward to chatting with all of you and will let you all know the name of my new baby boy next time. |

Elektryck,
Your introducion moved me to write and tell you how exciting it is to hear of your new puppy. Pickles is a cute name but I agree you have to see the dog first before you decide on a name for life. You don't say where you live. Are you from U.S? North, East, South or West? General locations are nice to know. Puppies are harder to cope with than grown animals that have a steady temper. But you sound young and ready for the love of a puppy. I guess you can tell I am not that energetic. My Duchess helps to keep me getting some execise. Yesterday I heard of a park nearby where several Corgi families walk there often. I hope they have the option of being off leash. Please keep us up to date on your new family member. Pickles seems a failrly ideal name for a Corgi - pickled onions are about the same colour (if he/she is coloured red and white) and pickles are small morsels of food and Corgis often get into a "pickle."
There are nearly 140,000 dogs on the Dogster website and only 28 of them are named Pickles - a little less than the 55 named Taylor. |
