Petsmart and Petco should carry it, It comes in a spray bottle which is white and has a green/yellow label on it - also has larger refill bottles available. Always had worked with Cody when he was younger and tried to chew on a couple of things, one being a wicker basket. I am glad to say that we don't having chewing problems with him anymore, so I no longer use it. A couple of people have said that the Bitter Apple didn't seem to phase their dog.

got the bitter apple. soaked the kitchen cupboards. Came home after dinner out to find more wood splinters on the floor. Apparently Jesse doesn't seem disturbed by the taste. How would one repair the oak framing on an oak cupboard that is missing a corner? I'm not going to worry about it and hope it will pass soon. If not that little chewer of mine will be stuck in his crate next time I leave the house.

At the natural food store that we buy Ace's food, the woman recommended a spray called Tropiclean. It is all natural with no alcohol and has a very bitter taste to it. She said if you get it on your hands to wash them or you will have a nasty taste in your mouth. My husband was spraying the cabinets and some of the mist made it into my mouth - somehow. (I wonder if he did it on purpose!) Anyway, it was terrible! I know I wouldn't chew on anything with that taste on it! Ace hasn't either! SO, it works, for us anyhow.

You can buy a putty type paste that is a wood filler to use in your chewed out corner, after it is dry, sand it down and you may have to use a stain on it. I have got several repairs to make once my 2 youngins get over their chewing. Chip chewed my new flip flops today.

Thanks for the tip! We are probably going to wait a little while to make sure Ace is through chewing the walls and cabinets. Plus, the more he chews the more likely I am to get the whole kitchen remodeled! (Secretly I trained Ace to do this for me!)

Last night I had to leave for a couple of hours and locked him in his crate indoors and from now on when I leave at night that is exactly where he'll go. During the day there's no problem leaving him in the yard but once it's dark we have coyotes roaming around looking for easy food. Willful little pup was in the crate alot that day because as soon as I got home and gave him a potty break outside he had to return to his crate to sleep the rest of the night. |
