Help us with flea problems! - 08-28-2006, 02:36 PM

Hello, my name is Trina and my Corgi is Casey and we are having a major flea problem this year. It's worse than it's ever been! We've done drops, baths, combing, the whole gamut. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated by me, Casey, and his Chinese Crested brother, Richie. Thanks

OMG! How horrible! Have you taken them to the vet for a flea dip (and while they are there, you have to flea bomb the house & yard)?

On a happy note, welcome to GoCorgi! Is Richie a powder puff or a hairless?

What topical flea meds have you tried ?
Frontline plus has worked wonderful for us.

You may want to also treat your yard, we do every year at the begining of summer.

If you don't mind using chemicals on your dogs - Frontline-Plus is the world's best - easy to administer, lasts up to three months per application and is value for money and you don't have to worrry about the effects of the drug losing any of its 'powers' through dogs swimming and having baths.

I use frontline on The Girls, we also spray the yard which helps a lot.

I would put off flea bombs in the house and you will need to redo the bombs again in a few weeks because there may be eggs that hatch.

Welcome to go Corgi ... let us know if this helps your problem

Don't forget to do the bedding in the crate. I did and couldn't figure out why they still had fleas after using frontline plus on all 4, spraying the carpet, furniture, etc. Washing blankets. Once I threw away their bed and bought a new one - it was the end of the fleas. Boy was I glad. They were eating Chip's lil stub up. good Luck and welcome aboard
