Those puppies are awfully cute! I cant look too long as it gives me puppy fever...and i have to wait unilt next year at the earliest to get another corgi...but i do love the little pups when their ears havent come up yet...talk about melting your heart... I know you must be ready to burst, i was there, i know the excitement! You will be so happy when Ein comes home.

Everyone's Corgi's are so cute! I am getting so impatient.

We won't be able to breed Ein since she is on a no breeding contract.
That's all right though because I have enough animals to look after....there is also the the birds, cat, fish, house etc, etc.

I have been reading up on Corgis alot and I read that corgi's at a young age cannot "hold on" for more than three/four hours. Since my husband and I both work all day I'm hoping there won't be too much "waste" when we get home! How was other people's dogs for this?

Dillon was able at 10 weeks old to hold it for 4 hours - but not much longer than that. I was able to bring him to work with me - he had his own crate there, so crate training was a great asset, he would not go in his crate. I took him out as often as i could at work ,sometimes every 3 hours sometimes 4 hours. If you both work, you can either crate train her, and have a puppy sitter come over and let her out after 4 hours or so (half way through the day) or you can gate her in an easy to clean area- kitchen or mudroom or something, and put out puppy wee wee pads for her to go on when she has to go. Dillon was housebroken very quickly by taking him out frequently in the begining. You will find what works best for you pretty quickly. When is your Ein coming home?

Ein will be coming home at the end of October. Just a few more weeks to go!

We are planning on making a big enough area for her in the kitchen so that any mishaps that happen before we get home will be easy to clean up. We are planning on putting down some newspaper for her to go on while we are not home. It is very tempting to ask if I can bring her to work but I know that would be a no.

We will just have to be patient.

What an adorable - and BIG - litter of pups. Rhys came from a litter of 5 (although one didn't survive ). The four surviving pups were three red/white boys and one tricolor girl. Rhys is a great Corgi and I am adopting his tricolor sis, Andrea - she comes home next week.

So you're going to call her Ein? I take it you like Cowboy Bebop? I love the name Ein. Which one of the girls are you getting? What color?

Unfortunately we do not know which female we are getting. Yes my husband very much enjoys the movie Cowboy Bebop...I don't mind it either

It is actually nice not to have to explain to someone where we got the name from

The breeders are currently doing personality tests and such and picking out there show dogs so I think it will be another week or so before we know which female we are getting.

We are so excited!

I know I can't believe the mom had such a big litter...it is amazing!

disraeli - congrats on your newcomer!

Only a few more weeks to go, and Ein will be home!! And then you will take lots of pictures and post them for all to enjoy (hint hint)!!!

If you want more info on potty training, we have had numerous discussions on that topic here. You can search the archives by clicking on SEARCH at the top of the page.
