Corgi bus trip

Finalised the Wellington Welsh Corgi Walking Club's lunch and recreational bus trip yesterday.
The trip takes 80 minutes each way and will cost $20 per person while the Corgis are free. The destination is Lake Henley which allows the Corgis to be off-leash. The lake surrounds includes a shrub maze, many sculphures, gardens adventure playground for kids/teenagers (AND ME), bush tracks, a 30 minute track around the lake, birds, picnic spots including free public barbecues, boating on the lake. We are going to have lunch at the lake in spending three hours there. I would say that this will be New Zealand's first ever commercial bus arranged for dogs to go on a picnic. The bus is a 28 seater and the Corgis are welcomed to sit on a seat but I don't expect a seat to be available - well I hope not anyway. However there are people's laps to sit on and a carpeted floor. The trip is on Sunday, February 11. I will be advising the media so if any photos are taken, I'll post them on Go Corgi.

Michael, that sounds like a neat trip. I wish there was something like that we could do around here.
When I get my camera I hope to get pics of Duchess but also the other dogs at the dog park we go to almost daily. There are few corgis but I hope to put something together for the frequent users of the field, similar to what Jespah did with the calendar.
Please post pics of your bus trip. I will be interested to see them.

Great idea Michael. The park sounds wonderful. Pictures would be great! I'd love to see a herd of Corgis taking over a park!

Susan - I must create a new name for a mass number of Corgis. Your 'herd' was amusing and I suppose the word 'pack' is correct but we need something else just for Corgis. Any suggestions?. How about a cackle of Corgis. No. A cordon of Corgis then. That's getting better.

A colony of corgis? congregation? company? what about a cloud?

Just wanted to chime in that I think this is a really neat idea and can't wait to see pictures.

How about a cwtch of corgis?

That is a good Welsh slang word for you. a CWTCH pronounced like coutsch

A cwtch is a hug, when you cwtch up with someone ( usually someone small with someone big like Mam) you're having a little cosy, warming hug. Grandmas give a good cwtch.
