TN Corgi Picnic - 02-01-2007, 09:41 PM

Okay folks, here is the official announcement :

Our eighth TN Corgi Picnic to benefit CorgiAid will be Sunday, May 20
from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at Borden Park, Shelter #1, 901 Lamont St.,
Kingsport, TN. Last year friends from 10 states came to have a fun
weekend
with their corgis and to help us raise money for CorgiAid through our
silent
auction. Helping CorgiAid is the reason for our picnic!
Kingsport is near where I-26 and I-81 cross in Northeast TN. The
Greater
Kingsport Kennel Club's show at Gray, TN that weekend is about 10
miles from
us.
Our picnic is free. We provide pizza and soft drinks for lunch
Sunday,
along with all the utensils, etc. We have some games and contests
planned
with cute squeaky toy prizes. We'll have the Blessing of the Animals
during
the afternoon.
Our silent auction is always worth your trip here. Last year we
had
several corgis at the picnic who had been helped by CorgiAid in the
past.
Come see what good work your donations to CorgiAid have done! Bring
an item
for the silent auction if you can, and bring some money to buy
something for
yourself. Every penny from our silent auction goes to CorgiAid.
If you're in town on Saturday night, we cook out hotdogs in our
backyard
about 6:00 pm and spend the rest of the evening playing with
the corgis and enjoying our friends. On Sunday after the picnic,
we're
having our Moon Pie and RC Cola reception here in Silver's Memorial
Garden.
Follow us home after the picnic!
Our picnic website is
http://webpages.charter.net/noelcorgi/picnic07
We also have a picnic Yahoo group at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tncorgipicnic
If you think you're coming, please make your motel reservations
now.
There is a large youth athletic tournament in our area that weekend,
and
rooms may get scarce later. We have a block of rooms reserved at
both the
Kingsport Days Inn on Lynn Garden Drive and the LaQuinta Inn out near
Airport Parkway. Call the local numbers listed on our picnic website
to
make your reservations, and tell them you're with the corgi picnic.
Hope you can be with us on May 20! Come help us help CorgiAid!

This is not something I can make, but I sure enjoyed looking at all the Corgis on here from the 2006 picnic and their adorable costumes - even saw Chip and his mom. Looks like a fun time.

I can't wait to see them in their valentine's photos! That picnic is just sadly too far away for us to go, i was thinking that if it were not that far off the path on our way to the place in NC that we could plan a trip around that but it is so far off the path we wont be able to make it one way added about 6 hours to our trip so that is a no go.. sniff sniff...

Sorry Emilie that it is so far. Maybe you could go to the NC picnic? How long do you stay in NC?

I am IN!

checked map-quest and it's only 3.5 / 4 hours away! Bonnie we will need to plan how to hook-up!

I may just bring one Girl... don't want to spend all my time untangling them - don't know which one yet - depends on who is in the mood when the time comes OR maybe I should accessorize? should I wear blond corgi fuzz or the more slimming black? Blond seems more spring but you can't go wrong with black.....

T-Gal

I have a great x pen that you are welcome to use if you want to bring both of them. I will be bring Chip and Dale. Debbie would never forgive me if I didn't. I also have a fenced in yard and an extra bedroom if you would like. Let me know when you will be coming in and we will meet up.

Thank you Bonnie,

That is very kind of you, I wouldn't want to put you out. Right now I am planning to drive in the day b4 the picnic and then leave the morning after. Then I will drive to Charlotte area to visit my in-laws for a few days. Another reason to only bring one Girl Their older and two Girls running wild is more than I would ask of them.

No problem - you wouldn't be putting me out though. We will have to make plans as they have alot of things going on the day before and that evening. It will be fun.
