Cabin Fever
Since it is almost the 1st of March and everyone has almost survived winter, I wondered if anyone is suffering from cabin fever. It seems tempers are short, patience is thin and not many happy posts about our furbabies. Is it because we have all been cooped up all winter and impatiently awaiting the arrival of spring?

Bonnie,
I hope that cabin fever is the reason everyone has been so grouchy lately. Hopefully it will all end soon and the friendly corgi forum will be back I know I'm ready for spring!!!

And well, I took insult to being told that I had no sense of humor by someone who does not know me and then being told I've been doing all this reading and studying and living with dogs and I'm not an expert. So, yeah, a bit short in temper, and for that I appologize. Spring would sure help!! Peggy

Cabin fever is used during winter? Wat abt rainy seasons? Umbrella fever?
Having lots of rain here in Singapore & Buta refuses to pee in the garden (she hates to get her feet wet). She is also quite clumsy during rainy days....she slipped into a shallow & muddy drain this morning. I had to bath her & was late for work!

Poor Buta is getting her feet wet and many of us are sick of snow.
But I chalk it up to the full moon being on the way! I was just out in the yard with Tucker and Lulu. We can play "catch the snowball" because the half moon on the snow makes it very bright! That's my story and I'mm sticking to it.

It's finally warmed up here to get rid of almost all of the snow and tomorrow it is supposed to be 58! Of course, we are also supposed to have thunderstorms, but at least the snow will be gone
I'm just ready to get my students back outside. They are definitely having cabin fever!

Jeni ~ I know just how you feel about getting the students outside! They need to be outside and work off some of their energy! It was 77 degrees here but once again the wind blew like crazy. I'd like to skip spring and go straight to summer because the wind blows every day here during the spring. I'd rather have the snow than the 40-60 mph wind anyday! Wind just puts me (and many other people around here in this area) in bad moods.

I just read that "they" are calling for large hail and possibly tornadoes for late tonight and tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we don't get anything too nasty.
On a weird corgi note--Maya will no longer go potty outside because the snow has melted and that is all she has ever learned to go on since it has been snowy ever since we brought her home...take one step forward and ten steps back

Our weather has finally warmed up some too! In honor of spring Emma has offered up 1/3 of her hair for bird nest material over the past 2 days...
I bought a shed blade and it really works well! Both of us are already feeling better

I agree with Peggy. It was snowing here this evening again, with more predicted off and on pretty much all week. For me also, it seems every time I do work up the courage to go out and brave the weather I run into someone that is sick, and invaribly I end up catching whatever they have... then giving it to Justin. Oh.. and I have the great timing to do this only when hubby is out of the country (playing on the beaches in Peru!), or working 12 hour shifts and therefore completey useless at helping out around the house (not his fault, but still.. grrr).
Oh.. and I'm supposed to be super-cleaning the apartment to get it ready for Justin's 1st birthday party this weekend (yeah, right... THAT's happening LOL). At least I've gotten his presents wrapped already... and the cakes ordered. Other than that I'll count myself lucky to get the dishes put up that morning before guests arrive! |

We are in the middle of our real summer in New Zealand - and temperatures where I live in Silverstream have reached 35 degrees celsius (95F) on a number of the days in February. March promises to be almost as hot on occasions.
Taylor shed blood last Wednesday for the first time in his life and he didn't enjoy it - apart from the cuddles he received. He was training in agility at the club's ground and must have trodden on a small piece of crunched up tin which pierced a hole in between the pad of his front foot. Out spurted the blood and of course I picked him up after seeing him suddenly go limp and then squat down to lick the sore. So we were both bloodied. There was a vet on hand and she found nothing trapped in the wound after I had washed his foot. But it was not a brave Corgi for the first five minutes. We have an agility demo to participate in on Saturday at an all day dog gala where the proceeds go to the blind guide dog services, so I hope that Taylor will be fully recovered. I want spring to come. Cabin fever though? hmmm, i go out with the dogs nearly as much in winter as i do in summer so I am not trapped in my home, but i am totally sick of seeing snow.
I think the grumpiness comes from reading posts that are just going round and round in circles and going absolutely nowhere and no one can let it die, including myself, as much as i want to just turn off the computer and forget it, it rubs me so the wrong way i feel i MUST post...if for no other reason than to get it off my chest. Hopefully with spring will come the feeling of rejuvination and we can all feel better and happier and this board will be loads of fun again... |

Jeni, I wanted to mention that we got Cody in the month of January and as the snow melted away in March, he would still search out little patches of snow to potty on in the back yard. Of course, eventually, there was no snow, and he had no other choice but to potty on the grass. - Maya will learn that also. ![]() speaking of snow - we are getting 6 to 10 more inches today - so the Cabin fever continues.
