Angry Woman With Dogs
Well, I was at the park with Eevee today (Eevee is my other dog, a Border Collie mix), and we were just getting out of the car, when this woman appeared in front of my parked car on the sidewalk, jerking around two very confused, overy-excited, possibly reactive/aggressive boxer mixes on haltis. This woman was mad (you can take that either way and it fits lol), and her dogs were just all over the place, so she was becoming even more angry and jerking them harder, and muttering all kinds of expletives under her breath, like "you *$#@ing dogs... <insert more cussing here>... What the &%$* is WRONG with you two?" I was speechless... I honestly just did not know what to say, and all I could really do was pay attention to my own dog.
Eevee saw them and started becoming excited, herself, so I had her sit and watch me for burnt-hotdog-flavored-kibble, and she calmed down and forgot about them. She was SO good!! The lady saw us, and stormed off down the sidewalk still cussing at her own poor confused dogs. It was a horrible display, but to be honest, it made me feel better about myself and well-behaved, confident, and not confused my own dogs are. Is that bad? >O_O;< |

I hate it so much when that happens, like cussing and jerking on the leash is going to make the dog do what you want.
Just scares and confuses them, not to mention make the owner look like a total jerk.

There are at least two ways of looking at this and you have touched on the two major ones - dismay at how some dogs are treated and (not) trained to an acceptable level so that it makes the dogs look and act ugly along with the handlers; and to glow in the fact that your dog/dogs are angelic by comparision.
To Taylor, Boxers are the worse of all the breeds of dogs he has met - and I keep him well at bay from Boxers - even puppies and females and gentle Boxers. But I don't know how a Boxer cross would rate with Taylor. He stays well clear of dogs he does not want to meet up with. |
