Knut the Polar Bear

OK, many a time I have read how out of control the Animal Rights folks are. Has anyone seen the news about Knut the Polar Bear Cub?

Apparently the AR folks are up in arms that the Zoo where the cub was born, didn't just let the little fellow die when his mother rejected him.

Apparently, they feel in the wild, if the mother had rejected the cub, he would have died. So there fore the Zoo should have done the same and let him die.

Unbelievable!

The footage of the cub is adorable. What a cutie! I'm sure there would be Zoos lined up across the country willing to take him.

Hey Cleveland folks, got any room in that Polar Bear exhibit for a growing cub? I lived in Cleveland for a number of years and they had a great Polar Bear exhibit. I'm trying to remember but I seem to recall that the bear diesd

I've heard about Knut and the AR's - and knowing the AR agenda, no I don't find it unbelievable at all.

I caught it on the news and the polar bear is a sweetie. I just can't imagine people that are that cruel. It makes one wonder what is wrong with their thinking or where their conscience is.

....and if you extrapolate their thinking to humans, should we let baby humans die when their Mums do? That'd be a question to ask them.

Ahhhh - something to understand here is that the AR's don't necessarily care about animals so much as they dislike humanity more. And don't forget that a part of the animal rights agenda is to end zoos.

Could it be that Animal Righ organisations would also advocate for domestic dogs to go about the natural state of their ancestors and not take into account that domestic dogs of today are really another type of canine ie divorced from the dogs of the wild. For instance, would it be acceptable for domestic dogs to hunt and kill other animals and pets, to fight each other and humans for territory and possession. Is that the right of every dog. In some countries and in some states/regions, a dog could be 'put down' for merely intimidating a person. Intimidaton could be a dog appearing to look angrily at a person (the person's interpretation) or display some kind of body language that could be construed as upsetting to a person. Animal rights advocates should get stuck into changing or deleting 'intimidation' laws.

The solution to this Animal Rights business is people speaking out publicly against it and be careful who you vote in office. Our county just tried to pass animal laws here including not allowing any flys in a barn - some of the proposals, I agreed with, the majority of them were crazy which made the people crazy and the end result is there will be no new animal laws in our county. Next election day, I am sure we will have a whole new set of officials.

"In a perfect world, all other than human animals would be free of human interference, and dogs and cats would be part of the ecological scheme." PETA's statement on Companion Animals

Nice you are finally catching up/on Michael. As far as the "intimidation" factor, yes that is a part of many "dangerous" dog laws including the HEART ordinance in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
