Old Wives Tales - 06-01-2007, 07:29 PM

Here are a few 'old wives tales' about dogs that don't stack up. I am sure that members can think of a lot more.

A cold, wet nose means a dog is healthy.

Dogs eat grass to induce vomiting.

If you have a wound, let your dog lick it to help heal.

Feeding raw eggs improves hair coat quality.

Use garlic to prevent fleas.

Feeding a dog raw meat gives it the taste for blood/makes it vicious. >9.9<

Hmmm.

When my dog eats grass, she inevitably vomits

When the Manpet had a very persistant boil on his foot, a dachsie appeared to heal it by licking it.

Rosie gets garlic almost every day. She almost never gets fleas.

As I say....hmmmm...
