Interesting "newcomer'
At an agility meeting last Saturday in New Zealand, I met up with a Lagotto and was quite impressed.
A Lagotto is an Italian breed of dog going back many centuries. It is a friendly farm working breed amd looks like a large white Poodle-Bichon cross (but shorter than a Standard Poodle) and of course doesn't have a shedding coat. There are only five of the breed in New Zealand - a breeding pair were imported from Australia a couple of years ago. Anyway at the first agility competition the Lagotto competed in (as well as the handler/owner) he did quite well - good at jumping through having plenty of spring. The owner does not intend to show the dog because he finds shows too boring - but he will be sent to another part of NZ shortly for mating purposes. Anyway my Taylor thought a lot of him. |
