Flexpet is alive and well in the USA. It is a rent-a-dog service for those people and households who like/love dogs but who haven't the time to look after a dog full-time.
I find it appaling because a dog doesn't want to be put on hold waiting for a casual handler to come along and spend a day or two with him/her/them. The dogs are trained and owned by the company running this money making scheme whiich does not operate in New Zealand.

I think it's dumb. If somebody wants to test out owning a dog, maybe they should volunteer as a foster at a shelter or rescue.

What a crazy idea... Maybe they should try babysitting one of their friends pets first. It is free ...
