What's Everyone Doing for Thanksgiving? - 11-20-2007, 12:19 PM

Staying home? Travelling? Taking the pupster(s) with you? What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving?

Charlie and I are going to my parents' house for lunch. They live about 2 1/2 hours away. My folks are approaching their 80's, so Dad usually picks up pre-cooked, boxed Thanksgiving dinners for us. My father and I are the animal lovers in the family, so he will really enjoy meeting Charlie.

(...no offense intended to the folks here who don't celebrate TG day!)

Hanging out at home and then my parent's which is about 10 mins down the road. Few of the crew will come along to drive my mother's cat nuts and play with her superfluffy cardigan Finch. Watch my dad mess up the turkey, again. He likes to think he can deep fry them but never quite gets it right. Ah the fun of it all.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and every dog,
Cindy and the crew at Foggy Bottom

My grandparents live an hour and a half away, and that's where my mother and I go every Thanksgiving (and Christmas). I'm REALLY excited because my Aunt is going, and you know what that means! She's bringing her corgi. I can never get enough of him.

Someday, I'll be with you, dear corgi!

Erin...you are so cute. My daughter and I are going to my sisters and we have to leave the corgs home. We aren't staying long though. And they are getting turkey.

Aww... <grin> Thanks.

By the way, I'm spending the night at said aunt's house right now, (mostly because of her pup but don't tell her that!) and he's licking all over me! It tickles.

Freppan, What is the Corgi's name? Is he a red and white? Is he the one that is on your avatar? Did you tell us how old he is? Have a nice holiday.

Every year we have dinner at my parent’s house. This year we are eating dinner later 7-8pm because my nephews and nieces are flying in that night. Peanut will be with us. I have an uncle who is violently scared of dogs, so I’ll be closely watching over Peanut. (who could be scared of my peanut?!!) I’ll be providing the Nintendo Wii for my nephew and nieces enjoyment.. hopefully they can work off that turkey! Happy Tryptophan day everyone!!!

Well, this should end his fear of dogs.

Well, we're having Thanksgiving this Sunday at my mom's which is only a mile away. I have to work (bummer!!! BUT the pay is good..LOL!) My husband and I had a semi-turkey meal today. Figure that the best I could do for him since I have to work the rest of the week. Everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving....and don't forget the special treats for you dog or dogs that day. I'll give Chloe and Duncan a few pieces of turkey mixed in with their food on Sunday.

I'm going to my parent's house around 9 in the morning to visit and have a light breakfast, then heading over to spend the evening with at my boyfriend's grandma's house with his family. On sunday or early next week I am either driving to Oregon to get my Waeryn (Finally! I'm SO excited!), or the breeder is driving to my house to drop her off (we haven't decided yet). The Thursday after Thanksgiving my boyfriend and I are going back over to my parent's house and having a second Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm back! She named the corgi Imus, and he is a black headed tri-color. He is 8 months old.
