A tall tail
Here is something that some people may find amusing - thoigh my wife can't see anything funny about it at all.
First, the background. I mentioned in a Letter to the Editor in the NZ Kennel Club's monthly magazine that tail-less Pembroke Corgis were generally quicker and more able in agility than were the tailed Cardigan Corgi. A guy named Shane wrote back, tongue-in-cheek about: will Pems become less superior when they are permitted to grow tails, will they then think that Cardis are only a bigger, heavier Pem, will they copy the Cardi and become more laid back and funnier. Who, he asks, can tell what is in the mind of a Pem. Here is my latest letter to the editor, titled Mind of a Pembroke (published this month): Shane McDonogh wonders what is in the mind of a Pembroke Corgi. Well I am a Pem and I can tell the difference between a CARDIGAN (Corgi) and a JERSEY (cow). That's why I an a cattle dog. I can also perform to an ultimate degree as a JUMPER in agility with or without a tail. No SWEAT! I'd give my SHIRT if I couldn't outsmart any dog that aint a Pem. To TOP it off, scientists might be well on the way to engineering Cardigan Corgis with a tail at the opposite end to enable confused people to distinguish. If they succeed, wouldn't it be a BLOUSE. |
