Deb - I know some about this state and have an idea where some of those corgis probably come from. Thankfully, in my area, I don't see too many corgis and the ones I have come across have good homes all except that one that died. I do see alot of the larger breeds and mixed breeds here. I took that test on the internet and passed with flying colors - a corgi was for me
but then I knew their traits so I may have cheated. It always breaks my heart to think of a corgi in the shelter or abandoned.Oh Deb - Please post a pic of the flooglehound puppy, I have never seen one.

The Cardigans, we know where they came from. We also know where depending in which locale, many of the Pems are coming from as well - the bottom line on it is owner retention and responsibility - that's the issue.
Flogglehound, is a "breed" I made up to use as an example. Debbie Last edited by glencorgi; 01-26-2008 at 11:30 AM. |

[quote=glencorgi;35992What he can't seem to get his head around is; fans and devotees of other breeds can hold the same blind devotion to their particular breed of choice.[/QUOTE]
I have to agree with Debbie here. When I go to dog shows I go with friends to help save on expenses. The one I used to travel with (before she moved to AL) has whippets. She was great with my corgis, has helped me show them. But she doesn't want to own one. She finds whippets much easier. And my current travel companion has shelties. She too is great with my dogs, has helped me show them, helps with the grooming, and has even "babysat" a couple of them for me. But she too does not want to own one. She finds shelties much easier for HER to live with. I could site others like this. People with other breeds find the breed they've chosen to be the perfect breed for them. Some of them find corgis very difficult to live with and would never own one. Which is why I keep saying that there is no one breed suitible for everyone. If there were there wouldn't be so many breeds. Peggy
